2026 OSSAA Team Preview: Lawton Eisenhower Eagles

Prep Baseball Oklahoma Staff

The Oklahoma high school baseball season kicks off on Feb. 23 for classes A and B and Mar. 1 for classes 2A-6A, opening day for regular season action under OSSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2025 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down to the official Prep Baseball Oklahoma Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

Our 2026 preseason coverage continues today.

High School: Lawton Eisenhower
Head Coach: Eric Shows (3)
Classification: 6A
2025 Record (Finish): 7-25 7th

2026 SEASON OUTLOOK

No. of Returning Position Players: 5
No. of Returning Pitchers: 3

Top Returners:

  • Colten Anderson: C/RHP, SR, 5'10 235, R/R.
  • Santana Gordon: CF/MIF/RHP, SR, 5'8, 160 R/R.
  • Jayven Wesley: OF/MIF, JR, 5'7 150, R/R.
    • These three players will anchor our offense and defense. They have experience and a proven track record against 6A competition.

Top Newcomers:

  • Cayden Vickers: INF/RHP, SR, 6'1 175, R/R.
    • Move in late last year was only able to play JV. Expected to anchor pitching staff especially in district contests. Good 4-pitch mix that focuses on movement rather than raw power.

Key Players Lost:

  • Charlie Trachte
  • Jaydin Moore

Coach’s Insight: “We are a big school that plays small. Our players are versatile and hungry to prove they can compete at the 6A level. We are senior heavy so maturity is a strength. ” – Eric Shows, head coach

Outlook: The Eagles will return a core group of seniors that have been battle tested at the varsity level. Along with the trio of Anderson, Gordon, and Wesley the addition of frontline district starter Cayden Vickers will immediately add length to the rest of the staff. The depth of the staff will be a key factor in the highly competitive 6A District 1 that is loaded with high end talent. Their ability to keep opposing teams off balance and throw multiple looks on both Monday and Tuesday could catch teams off guard before they can make adjustments. On both sides of the ball, expect Coach Shows' squad to have versatility around the diamond with guys that can play multiple spots and show toughness with any adversity. Expect for Lawton Ike to bounce back in 2026 with a competitive group that has continued to fight through adversity at the 6A level and continued to develop.
