We continue our spring high school previews and projections with a look at 15 "Picks to Click" as we inch closer to the 2026 baseball season. Highlighted in these stories are players that we believe are in contention for "Player of the Year" or "Pitcher of the Year" and we will give a detailed analysis, including video on each. Without further ado, the next player we would like to highlight is Maryland commit Miguel Leon from John Carroll.

One of the smoothest operators in the state, Miguel Leon is poised for a huge 2026 spring with John Carroll, a team that lost a slew of impact bats to graduation. If the Patriots look to defend their MIAA “A” conference title, the University of Maryland commit will need to have a huge year in every facet of the game.

Possessing a really nice mix of speed, power, instinct and defense, Miguel Leon has the total package and a step up in production this spring is almost a given. It’s a smooth, fluid approach at the dish that creates extension through the zone with the ability to use the whole field with authority. Look for singles into the gaps turn into doubles power this spring, and you may even see the homerun numbers increase as well. Speed will be at the forefront for Leon, as it has been over the past three years, and the ability to impact the game in multiple facets bodes well for a run at MD Player of the Year.
