As we look back on the 2025 summer tournament circuit here in Kansas City, we’ll be breaking down the top players by tool from each class — based on evaluations from our scouting team at Homefield and Creekside. Follow along as we take a deep dive into these players and highlight the summers they put together. Each week will feature our top five players based on each tool from the class, presented in no particular order.

Top Fastballs Class of 2028

Billy Miller SS / RHP / Kouts Middle/High School, IN / 2028

Billy Miller was a one-man wrecking crew for an already stacked Indiana Bulls 2028 team. We saw Miller at his best in the semifinals of the Midwest Premier Super 15, where he allowed zero earned runs and just three hits over five innings of work. What stands out most is his sound, repeatable mechanics in a strong 6-foot-1, 170-pound frame, which allow him to consistently command his pitches.

Miller’s fastball was particularly impressive, as he maintained his velocity throughout all five innings, topping out at 88 mph and never dipping below 85. He has been up to 90 mph in showcase settings, and as he continues to add strength over the next few years, we believe there’s another velocity jump coming.
