2026 High School Team Preview: Harrison Hoyas

The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the GHSA or GIAA state playoffs, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each GHSA classification and Power 25.

TEAM OUTLOOK

A year removed from 20+ wins and an elite eight appearance, the Hoyas step into 2026 as one of the most complete teams in the region with high-level talent at premium positions and depth to carry them into another deep playoff run. It starts at the top of the rotation with senior LHP Colin White returning after dealing with some injuries last year and instantly gives the Hoyas one of the frontline aces in 6A. Slotting in right behind White is another huge addition in junior RHP/OF Jack Johnson. The Troy commit sat out last spring after transferring, and now brings one of the higher-floor two-way profiles in Georgia’s 2027 class with sneaky athleticism that will help this team in multiple ways. Uncommitted senior RHP Davis Gurski will round out the rotation and gives Coach Storey quality experience with high-level pitchability alike to handle the rigors of what will be a highly competitive region. Alongside the pitching, the outfield will be a real strength for Harrison this spring with a pair of tooled-up uncommitted juniors in OF Alex Elhenbach and OF Marcus Labouchere leading the way. The duo made big strides across the board in breakout 2025 campaigns and will impact the lineup while being a no-fly-zone in the grass. Sophomore OF Brech Hemphill is yet another addition for 2026 after moving down from Pennsylvania, and gives this lineup instant power from the left-side with an absolute cannon in RF. The sophomore impact continues with SS Aiden Watson and C Logan Arnett, who step into everyday roles while holding some of the highest ceilings on the roster. Uncommitted senior 3B Luke Hudson will be one of the few seniors in the lineup and provides stability on the left-side of the dirt with bat-to-ball skills you can stick anywhere in the lineup. There will be no question that expectations will be high this spring for Harrison but this group shows the talent and togetherness to handle whatever challenges they face this spring.
