The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the GHSA or GIAA state playoffs, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each GHSA classification and Power 25.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each GHSA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

TEAM OUTLOOK

Midtown transfers to a new era under Head Coach Vic Radcliff as the Knights will be led by a strong upperclass group of players that have been integral to a combined 32 wins and playoff appearances over the last two seasons. Coach Radcliff and the Knights will look to build upon that behind by strengths in pitching and defensive versatility with a playoff run in their sights. Senior experience in the lineup comes from 2B/SS Lyndon Williams and OF Beckett Boatright who provide a strong hit/speed combo to the offense. Swiss-army knife production will come from RHP/IF/C Sam Dempsey who anchors the staff as SP1 after pitching to the tune of a .2582 ERA across 40.2 innings. Dempsey is armed with a strong defensive makeup as well and threw out 50% of runners from behind the plate while furnishing the lineup with a quality on-base threat. 2027 LHP/1B Charlie Frederick was a big winner amongst staff this past year as he boasts a high-level hit-tool and hit over .450 last Spring with only 6 strikeouts. Frederick also offers value on the mound with pitchability. Junior RHP/IF Patrick Rebillot has been a key piece as a two-year starter and offers pivotal two-way value for Coach Radcliff. Sophomore OF/LHP Alec Sevigny gained invaluable experience a season ago and will supply two-way impact for the Knights. Uncommitted 2027 OF Kingston Glover is a difference-maker on the base-paths as he brings speed out of the lead-off spot to kickstart the offense. A pair of 2027’s consisting of IF Thomas Curd and 3B Nick Treschitta will look to compete for spots and give consistency to the lineup. A trio of juniors including OF Henry Eckersley, IF Elijah Smith, and OF Cornell King bolster the depth of the lineup as they look to carve out quality roles. Junior RHP Sullivan Zern holds down a spot in the rotation and will aim to take on a larger role this season. Another underclassmen that intends to make an impact and fill a multitude of roles defensively is 2028 UTL Coen Wilson. The x-factor for this club could be freshman C/RHP/MIF John Brennan who showed well this Fall and boasts present tools on both sides of the ball as he looks to carry an important two-way role. The Knights return production throughout with an influx of underclass talent and Coach Radcliff will have this group ready to roll on February 10th, as they compete for a region title with the likes of Maynard Jackson and Pace Academy.
