2026 Robertsdale Golden Bears Team Preview

Austin Sharp
Alabama Scouting Director

The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Alabama.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the Jacksonville/Oxford/Montgomery area at the AISA or AHSAA state championships, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Alabama. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each AHSAA classification.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each AHSAA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

*Please note the information has been gathered from head coaches across the state, based on their replies to the questionnaire we distributed over this offseason.

TEAM OUTLOOK

Robertsdale enters the 2026 season looking to take a step forward after a 15-22 finish in 2025 that kept them out of the postseason in Class 7A, Area 2. While the win-loss column didn’t reflect it, the foundation is being built under head coach Dakota Bodree with a clear emphasis on preparation, competitiveness, and playing the game the right way. In one of the state’s most demanding classifications, the Golden Bears are focused on turning daily habits into tangible results this spring.

The core of this group starts up the middle with SS/RHP Kael Nielsen (2026), a key two-way piece who brings athleticism, defensive stability, and versatility to the roster. 1B/RHP Evan Foster (2026) provides a physical presence on both sides of the ball and is expected to be a major contributor in the middle of the order while also factoring into the pitching staff. Behind the plate and on the infield corners, C/3B Drake Bryant (2027) adds another important piece, giving Robertsdale a reliable option with the glove and a bat that should continue to develop as he takes on a larger role. This trio will be leaned on heavily to set the tone for a team that is still shaping its identity.

The 2026 outlook for Robertsdale is built around effort, consistency, and attention to detail. The Golden Bears want to be a team that competes every day, prepares the right way, and plays with purpose, trusting that those habits will lead to improvement in a tough 7A landscape. As Coach Bodree put it, “We’re going to play the game hard, with passion, and the right way. We hang our hat on how we prepare each day—from the weight room to the tempo of our practices—showing up ready, focused, and committed to getting better. Our attention to detail, both in practice and in games, is what we believe will separate us. If we stay true to that process, the results will take care of themselves.”
