2026 OUTLOOK
+ St. Andrew’s Episcopal enters the 2026 season coming off a strong 22–11 campaign and a second-round playoff appearance in Class 3A, returning a veteran core that logged meaningful postseason reps a year ago. Under head coach Mark Fanning, the Saints bring back impact pieces on both sides of the ball, positioning themselves as a competitive presence in District 5.
The offense is anchored by shortstop John William Walker (2026, Mississippi College), a steady middle-infield defender who also brings leadership and consistency at the plate. Walker’s ability to impact the game offensively while providing stability up the middle makes him a cornerstone of the Saints’ lineup. Marco LeFlore (2026) adds reliability at second base, offering a contact-oriented approach and defensive versatility that helps solidify the infield.
Cash Myrick (2027) provides a multi-positional look across the corner infield and outfield, giving St. Andrew’s flexibility in constructing lineups while also contributing on the mound. Pierce Ingram (2027) brings athleticism to center field, pairing range and speed defensively with a developing offensive profile that adds length to the order. Luke Peterson (2026) and catcher James Machost (2026) are additional returning pieces who add depth to the lineup and provide options behind the plate and in the outfield.
On the mound, the Saints return a versatile group of arms headlined by left-hander Sargeant Moriarity (2026, Occidental College – CA), who brings experience and strike-throwing ability to the front of the rotation. Walker, Ingram, and Myrick all factor into the pitching mix as well, giving St. Andrew’s multiple two-way options capable of handling meaningful innings. That depth allows the Saints to manage workloads while maintaining competitiveness throughout the spring.
The next wave of talent is already pushing forward, highlighted by Jonah Kerr (2029), a young two-way piece with projectable upside, and catcher Tim Thomas (2029), who adds long-term depth behind the plate.
With a returning middle-infield anchor, athletic outfield pieces, and several arms that can fill both starting and relief roles, St. Andrew’s enters 2026 with a balanced roster and postseason experience. If the Saints continue to get production from their veteran core while integrating underclass contributors, they have the makeup to be a factor again in Class 3A District 5.
