2026 OUTLOOK
+ Biggersville enters the 2026 season coming off a 15–16 campaign that included a third-round playoff appearance in Class 1A, returning a battle-tested core that logged meaningful varsity innings and at-bats a year ago. Under head coach Justin Whitaker, the Lions bring back a roster built on versatility and toughness, with multiple two-way contributors capable of impacting games on both sides of the ball as they compete in District 1-1A.
The strength of the lineup lies in its experience and flexibility. Case Hilliard (2026) returns as one of Biggersville’s most important pieces, providing value in the infield while also serving as a reliable arm on the mound. His ability to contribute in multiple phases gives the Lions a steady presence in the middle of the lineup and a trusted option in pressure situations. Brooks Seago (2026) offers a similar two-way profile, bringing consistency at the plate and competitiveness on the mound, making him another cornerstone of the 2026 class.
Dillon Johnson (2026) adds athleticism and impact from the outfield, while also factoring into the pitching staff. His ability to influence the game offensively and defensively gives Biggersville added matchup flexibility. Xae Mayes (2026) provides depth and speed in the outfield, rounding out a senior-heavy group that should give the Lions stability throughout the spring.
The next wave of contributors is already firmly in place. Jaden Clifton (2027) and Braden Hill (2027) both bring two-way upside, capable of handling infield duties while also providing innings on the mound. Their continued development will be key as Biggersville looks to balance experience with emerging talent. Behind the plate, Carsen Price (2028) stands out as a young catcher with arm strength and defensive value, while also projecting as a future contributor on the mound.
On the pitching side, Biggersville returns a deep group of arms led by Hilliard, Seago, and Johnson, with Clifton and Price adding additional coverage. That depth should allow the Lions to manage innings effectively and stay competitive across a full district schedule. Brady Davis (2027) is another arm to watch as he pushes for a larger role within the staff.
The underclass group adds long-term upside to the program. Dem Gunn, Logan Davis, and Brady Basden (all 2029s) represent the next layer of athletic talent, while Coby Hill and Gage Presley (2030) highlight the continued youth development within the program.
With a roster built around experienced two-way players, solid pitching depth, and a steady influx of young talent, Biggersville enters 2026 positioned as a competitive Class 1A club. If the Lions continue to get consistent production from their returning core and see growth from their underclassmen, they have the makeup to push deeper into the postseason once again.
