Over the next few weeks, leading up to the beginning of the 2026 MD High School season, our staff will be releasing our Preseason Power 25. This list will be comprised of public and private schools across the state that we feel have a strong chance of being successful in 2026.

# 23 Smithsburg Leopards   

Smithsburg was one win away from a 1A state championship appearance in 2025, and we anticipate the Leopards to make another deep run this spring. Possessing a strong balance of offensive firepower and depth on the mound, this roster is loaded with returning senior starters who are poised to cap off their high school careers with a state title.
