February 24, 2026
TENNESSEE - We're excited to unveil our Power 25 countdown rankings around the state. Our Prep Baseball staff worked diligently at ranking these top 25 teams, while looking at their records, scores, and player performances over the previous season. These rankings will obviously continue to change as teams play more games as the season goes on. But for now, let's begin our countdown on our 2026 Power 25.
Today, we begin our countdown by looking at the No. 14 spot, which belongs to the Lincoln County Falcons.

POWER 25 COUNTDOWN: NO. 14 📊
LINCOLN COUNTY FALCONS
The Lincoln County High baseball program finished the 2025 season going 26-9 and getting put out in region play by Independence. Going into the spring, the Falcons return seven players in their starting lineup and their two top arms.
The biggest returner for the Falcons is 2026 MIF/RHP Rhett Persell who is also a Snead State CC commit. The ceiling for Rhett is extremely high as a two way player with 105 MPH exit velocity and up to 91 MPH on the mound. Rhett will return as the 3 hole and shortstop for the Falcons and be the key to how far they go in May. On the mound, Rhett will look to lock down the ace role with electric stuff. 2026 OF Ian Weaver will return as the leadoff hitter and centerfielder and is a true tone setter at the top of the lineup as a speedy runner and on base machine. Ian will also get time on the mound as a left-handed arm that sits in the mid-80s. 2027 OF Clint Quick returns as the two hole and right fielder, and will be essential to complete a dangerous trio of hitters that rivals most lineups in the state. 2026 RHP/MIF Mick Smith is another top of the rotation arm for the Falcons. Mick is a right-handed arm that gets into the upper 80s on the mound. He will also be counted on to hit in the middle of the lineup and lock down the second base position.
There are two big sophomores that played huge roles last year for the Falcons. 2028 INF Carson Haney is a former Junior Future Game alum who is a slick infielder who has a chance to stick in the middle of the field long term with good range and a strong arm up to 87 MPH. At the plate, Carson is a barrel machine with exit velocities up to 100 MPH. The highlight of Carson’s freshman season was against Columbia Central facing RHP Lane Sharp who is one of the best arms in the state. Carson led the Falcons that night going 2-3 with a home run and a double leading to a 2-1 victory. Carson will look to take on an even bigger role this spring. 2028 INF August Lynch is a switch hitter that locked down the first base position for most of the season. August is a good sized kid standing at 6’0 170 lbs that has some real power potential.
The Lincoln County Falcons come into the spring with one of the most veteran teams in the state and have all the components needed to get to Murfreesboro to make a real run.
