Over the next few weeks, leading up to the beginning of the 2026 MD High School season, our staff will be releasing our Preseason Power 25. This list will be comprised of public and private schools across the state that we feel have a strong chance of being successful in 2026.

#14 Huntingtown Hurricanes 

Coach Smith and the defending 2A State Champions return some big pieces on both sides of the ball and look to be the team to beat once again across the SMAC, and look to make another deep run across the 2A classification in 2026. Huntingtown has always been known to win games in a ton of different ways, and look for no difference this spring. Some younger players who gained experience last year will be looked upon to make larger impacts this year, and the return of some impact players on both sides of the ball should keep Huntingtown at the top this spring.
