Super 60: California Preview
January 30, 2026
This weekend, Prep Baseball is set to host the annual Super 60 Pro Showcase, which is set for Sunday, February 1st in Chicago, IL. The 2026 roster features more of the top-ranked players in the country than ever before, and from an even wider range of states across the country, as well as Canada – from New Mexico to New Jersey and many more states in between, this year’s event should be a robust one.
The Super 60 has genuinely evolved into a key event along the MLB Draft track, especially over the past few years. From the event’s 2024 roster, players in attendance earned a Super 60 record of over $17 million in signing bonuses at that draft later that same summer. In 2025, three members of the Super 60’s roster went on to become top-100 picks, including the No. 8 overall selection.
This year, three prospects from California are set to represent The Golden State. Find out more about those players, below:

Jayden Parker SS / OF / University City, CA / 2026From 1/4/25: “Parker made a statement at the Preseason All-State. A physically imposing frame at 6'2, 191.1 lbs, Parker has the size, strength, and athleticism you want in a shortstop. He started off the day with an event-topping 6.8 60-yard dash and followed with 86 mph across the infield. In BP, Parker launched balls all over the yard with a max distance of 362 ft. and a max EV of 93.3. In his first at-bat, Parker made his presence known immediately, falling to 0-2, he stayed on plane with a high 80s FB at the top of the zone and smacked it for a no-doubt HR well over the wall in left. He followed that with a 90 mph EV ground ball that snuck under the glove of the third baseman. The duo of Parker and Curry at University City is one to watch as both are set up for big seasons.” |

Carson Sheffer C / 1B / Oaks Christian, CA / 2026From 6/1/25: “Sheffer entered the ProCase West event not at 100%, but the Oklahoma State commit showed off his competitive side and intriguing overall toolset to standout in a group of impressive players from the 2026-2027 classes. With five catchers throwing from all the states in attendance Sheffer was the top performer with an 83 MPH C arm velocity and was neck and neck with Alain Gomez Gudino from Arizona for pop times with a 1.87-1.95 range over his workout throws. His 6.81 60 yard dash time was second amongst all catchers in attendance showcasing his strong athleticism while adding 1.61 10 yard and 3.73 30 yard splits on VALD. During batting practice Sheffer took a pair of strong rounds posting a 95 MPH max exit velocity, 353' max distance and identical 64% hard hit and sweet spot rates. His batting practice carried over into the game with a two hit performance the first a 90+ MPH single to CF on the first pitch he saw on the day and then his athletic ability showed up when he beat out and INF single in his final trip to the plate on the day. A strong showing all around for the Oaks Christian High School backstop as he kicks off his summer on the circuit.” |
