Compiled from submissions by high school coaches statewide, this feature highlights standout individual efforts from the previous week and takes a closer look at the players who made the biggest impact on the diamond.

From dominant outings on the mound to explosive offensive showings and all-around performances that fueled team success, Alabama Diamond Notes is your weekly snapshot of who’s trending across the state.

Andrew Edwards SS / 2B / Brooks, AL / 2027 The junior turned in a strong week at the plate, going 9-for-16 (.562) with two doubles, a triple, five RBIs, five runs scored, and three stolen bases, consistently providing offensive production and impacting the game on the bases.

Bam Campbell 2B / Brooks, AL / 2027 Campbell turned in a productive stretch, going 4-for-8 (.500) with a double, a home run, six runs scored, and four stolen bases, impacting the game with both power and speed.

Conner Abston OF / RHP / Brooks, AL / 2026 The uncommitted senior put together a strong two-way week, going 3-for-8 (.375) with two doubles, three RBIs, five runs scored, and six stolen bases at the plate. Also earned a complete game win, allowing 2 H, 1 ER over 5 IP, and finished the week with 7 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 3 K, 3 BB on the mound.

Jordon Lankford SS / 3B / Geraldine School, AL / 2028 Another big week at the plate for Lankford, going 6-for-9 (.667) with three doubles, three RBIs, four runs scored, two stolen bases, and two walks, finishing with a .667 OBP.

Will Carter C / RHP / Huntsville, AL / 2027 Carter, an uncommitted junior catcher, turned in a strong all-around week, going 7-for-11 (.636) with a home run, five RBIs, five runs scored, and six walks for a .722 OBP. Also tossed 4 scoreless innings, allowing 4 hits while striking out 7 with no walks.

Jesse Isensee SS / RHP / James Clemens, AL / 2026 Isensee, a Coastal Alabama-South CC recruit, had a productive week offensively, going 5-for-13 (.385) with a double, a triple, a home run, eight RBIs, three runs scored, and two walks

Hayden Udovich 2B / SS / James Clemens, AL / 2026 The UT Southern recruit turned in a big week at the plate for the Jets, going 5-for-7 (.714) with a double, four runs scored, and three walks.

Cooper Crenshaw 1B / OF / Satsuma, AL / 2026 Crenshaw enjoyed a huge week offensively, going 11-for-15 (.733) with four doubles, a home run, five RBIs, and eight runs scored to help the Gators get off to a 7-3 start.

Mason Holloway OF / 2B / Hamilton, AL / 2027 Turned in a strong week at the plate, going 7-for-13 (.538) with a triple, five RBIs, and three stolen bases, posting a .692 OBP helping the Aggies to a 8-1 record.

Dalton Fraedrich SS / 2B / Rehobeth High School, AL / 2027 The junior had an impressive week offensively, going 7-for-16 (.438) with a double, two RBIs, ten runs scored, one walk, and five stolen bases.

Grayson Arnette C / SS / Rehobeth High School, AL / 2028 Arnette, a sophomore, had a productive week at the plate, going 6-for-14 (.429) with four RBIs, five runs scored, four walks, and five stolen bases.

Jace Dean 1B / LHP / Rehobeth High School, AL / 2028 Dean turned in a strong two-way performance, going 5-for-13 (.385) with a double, triple, home run, four RBIs, two runs scored, three walks, and a stolen base. Also earned a complete game win, tossing a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts vs. Holmes County (FL).

Ty Hunter OF / LHP / Hazel Green, AL / 2028 Hunter turned in a big all-around week, going 6-for-11 (.545) with two triples, a home run, two RBIs, 10 runs scored, four walks, three HBP, and 6-for-6 in stolen bases. Also picked up a win in relief, tossing 1.2 scoreless innings with 4 strikeouts, allowing no hits and one walk.

Clay Johnson OF / LHP / Charles Henderson High School, AL / 2026 The Bevill State CC recruit had a big week at the plate, going 6-for-13 (.462) with two doubles, two home runs, eight RBIs, four walks, a sacrifice fly, and four stolen bases.

Colton Borden 1B / RHP / Arab, AL / 2026 The uncommitted senior had a huge week at the plate for the Knights, going 6-for-7 (.857) with a double, a home run, five RBIs, and five walks.

Quinton Robinson OF / RHP / Pike Road High School, AL / 2027 Delivered a game-tying double in the 6th inning and turned in a strong outing on the mound in the same game, tossing 6.1 scoreless innings with 7 K, 1 BB, and 2 H to get the win. On the week, went 4-for-11 (.364) with 3 runs and 3 RBIs, and owns a 0.857 ERA on the season.

Andrew Knight RHP / 3B / Shelby County, AL / 2026 Had a big week at the plate, going 10-for-15 (.667) with two doubles, a triple, six RBIs, five runs scored, one walk, and four stolen bases (4-for-4) for the 5A No. 10 Wildcats.

Terrion Nevels OF / 2B / Parker High School, AL / 2027 Had a huge week at the plate, going 7-for-8 (.875) with two doubles, a triple, seven RBIs, five runs scored, and two stolen bases for the Thundering Herd.

Cornellrious Scott SS / RHP / Parker High School, AL / 2028 Scott, a sophomore, had a strong week offensively, going 5-for-8 (.625) with three doubles, four RBIs, six runs scored, and five stolen bases.

Jeremiah Hutchins OF / Lauderdale County, AL / 2026 Hutchins enjoyed a big week at the plate, going 8-for-14 (.571) with six doubles, a triple, five RBIs, six runs scored, and a stolen base.

Hesston Parker RHP / SS / Lauderdale County, AL / 2027 Turned in a strong two-way week, going 8-for-17 (.471) with two doubles, two RBIs, five runs scored, and two stolen bases. Also earned a complete game shutout, tossing 7 IP with 3 H, 3 BB, and 14 K.

Curtis Ritter C / OF / Lauderdale County, AL / 2027 Ritter had a productive week at the plate, going 7-for-15 (.467) with a double, seven RBIs, six runs scored, and two stolen bases for the Tigers.

Trey Harville OF / C / Austin High School, AL / 2028 Harville continues to put up big numbers offensively as he enjoyed another strong week with the bat, going 7-for-16 (.438) with two doubles, three triples, four RBIs, and seven runs scored.

Riley Grigg 3B / Austin High School, AL / 2027 The uncommitted junior had a productive week at the plate, going 6-for-15 (.400) with six RBIs, two runs scored, and four stolen bases

Evan Daigle OF / 1B / McGill-Toolen Catholic, AL / 2028 Daigle had another strong week at the plate, going 6-for-14 (.429) with a home run, three doubles, three runs scored, and nine RBIs. He now has 23 RBIs and 3 HR through 11 games this season.

Andrew Beaverson RHP / 1B / Hazel Green, AL / 2026 The Wallace-Hanceville CC recruit had a big week offensively, going 6-for-13 (.462) with a home run, a double, 13 RBIs, five runs scored, and two walks for the 6A No. 2 Trojans.

Wyatt Garner 1B / LHP / Hillcrest, AL / 2026 The Gadsden State CC recruit turned in a strong two-way performance, going 5-for-11 (.455) with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored, including a walk-off knock to beat Vestavia Hills. He also tossed a complete game win vs. Chelsea, allowing 1 run on 3 hits with 8 strikeouts and 1 walk over 7 IP.

Easton Moody RHP / SS / Brooks, AL / 2029 The freshman earned a complete game win, tossing 7 IP (85 pitches) while allowing 2 hits, 1 ER, with 6 strikeouts and 2 walks.

J.B. Leatherwood SS / RHP / Moody, AL / 2026 The Gadsden State CC recruit picked up a big win over Gardendale, tossing 6 IP while allowing 2 hits, striking out 5, and issuing 2 walks while helping the Blue Devils get off to an 8-1 start.

Will Jones OF / RHP / Huntsville, AL / 2026 The Asbury recruit went 1-0 with a complete game win, finishing the week with 9 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 9 K, and 0 BB. The win came against a quality James Clemens team as the Panthers enjoyed a successful week on the diamond.

Ethan Hardee SS / RHP / Lee-Scott Academy, AL / 2026 An uncommitted senior, Hardee earned a complete game shutout vs. Gordo, tossing 7 IP on just 71 pitches, allowing 4 hits, 0 runs, with 4 strikeouts and no walks.

Braden Martin LHP / OF / Lee-Scott Academy, AL / 2027 The uncommitted junior southpaw picked up a win in a highly anticipated matchup versus Ariton, tossing 5 scoreless innings while allowing 4 hits, striking out 8, and issuing 1 walk

Isaac Hancock OF / RHP / Northside Methodist Church & Academy, AL / 2026 The senior earned a complete game shutout, allowing 1 hit with 10 strikeouts and 2 walks, carrying a no-hitter into the 7th inning while throwing 65 strikes on 97 pitches (67%).

Houston Tibbs SS / 2B / Hamilton High School, AL / 2027 Tibbs, a junior, earned a complete game shutout vs. Winfield, tossing 7 IP while allowing 3 hits, striking out 8, and issuing no walks.

Tyler Booth RHP / Rehobeth, AL / 2026 The Huntingdon recruit tossed 5.1 innings, allowing 2 hits and 1 earned run while striking out 9 and issuing 4 walks helping the Rebels get off to a 10-3 start to the 2026 season.

Joshua Wilhide RHP / 1B / Bob Jones, AL / 2026 The uncommitted senior turned in a strong two-way performance, tossing 5 IP while allowing 1 hit and 1 ER with 10 strikeouts and 1 walk. Wilhide also contributed offensively with a home run, 4 RBIs, 1 run scored, and 2 walks.

Cade Mason RHP / 3B / saraland high, AL / 2027 The uncommitted junior earned the win with a 5-inning no-hitter vs. St. Paul’s, striking out 10 with 2 walks. On the season, has allowed just 5 hits over 13 innings with 23 strikeouts.

Jacob Jones OF / Lauderdale County, AL / 2027 Jones picked up a win vs. Lindsay Lane, while also finishing the week with 8.2 IP, allowing 4 hits, 1 ER, with 4 strikeouts and 4 walks.

Holton Smith SS / Carroll, AL / 2028 Smith, a sophomore, tossed a complete game no-hitter, tossing 7 IP with 16 strikeouts.

Owen Prater 1B / Austin High School, AL / 2028 Prater went 1-0 with a save, tossing a 5-inning complete game no-hitter with 10 strikeouts on 65 pitches. He also recorded a save vs. Albertville, throwing 1.1 IP with 1 ER and 1 K.
