Below we have scouting notes from some of the class of 2027 standouts at the event.

TOP PITCHERS

Gideon Novotny RHP / 3B / Millard West, NE / 2027

Novotny grabbed attention with a fastball that reached 90.8 mph and came out of the hand with real life. The arm works clean and the frame hints there is more coming. It is an easy delivery with room to add strength, which makes him one of the more intriguing arms in Nebraska’s 2027 class heading into the spring.

Matthew Gorman LHP / OF / Papillion La Vista South, NE / 2027

A lefty touching 90.1 mph is always going to draw eyes and Gorman checked that box. The delivery is smooth and the fastball plays well thanks to deception and extension. There is feel for the strike zone already. If the breaking ball continues to develop, the profile starts to look like a legitimate starter. He also ran exit velocities north of 100 mph in the outfield, giving him true two-way value. Future Miami Hurricane.

Carson Burke OF / RHP / Millard North, NE / 2027

Burke is primarily known for what he does in the outfield, but the arm strength showed up on the mound as well with a fastball up to 89.9 mph. The velocity jumps out thanks to his athleticism and quick arm. He has not spent a ton of time pitching, but the raw tools suggest there could be more there if a program wanted to explore it.

Caiden Cannon OF / RHP / Omaha Westview, NE / 2027

Cannon showed a fastball up to 89.5 mph from a higher slot with some carry through the zone. The delivery is athletic and controlled, which fits the profile of a multi-tool player. As he continues to mature physically, it would not be surprising to see him creep into the low 90s.

Colton Williams LHP / OF / Millard West, NE / 2027

Williams turned in one of the better left-handed looks of the event. The fastball reached 89.4 mph and mostly sat in the 86 to 88 range with about 2,048 rpm of spin and good extension down the mound. He paired it with a 72 to 75 mph slider and a 74 to 75 mph changeup to give him a legitimate three-pitch mix. A football recruit with plenty of room left in the frame.

TOP HITTERS

Adrian Norris 1B / OF / Millard North, NE / 2027

Norris posted the top exit velocity in the class at 105.4 mph and it looked the part. The swing is compact and powerful with easy lift through contact. The profile at first base is built around impact with the bat and the raw power is already present. He also ran the fastball up to 89.1 mph on the mound, giving him one of the higher ceilings in the class as a two-way player heading into the 2026 spring.

Jamison Saathoff 1B / OF / Omaha Skutt Catholic High School, NE / 2027

Saathoff was right behind Norris with a 105.3 mph exit velocity and consistently found the barrel. The swing works with strength to the pull side and a disciplined approach in the box. It is a classic first baseman run producer look, and if the approach continues to mature he could become one of the more dangerous bats in the state.

Bryson Rhodes OF / 2B / Lincoln East, NE / 2027

Rhodes produced a 105.1 mph exit velocity from an athletic outfield frame and the swing showed quick hands with authority to the gaps. The speed adds another layer to the profile and hints at a player who could impact the game in several ways. There is real breakout potential here as his high school career unfolds.

Brett Langan 1B / RHP / Bennington High School, NE / 2027

Langan reached 102.3 mph off the bat and did it with a controlled, mature approach. The bat-to-ball skills are solid and the strength is beginning to show up in game power. As his large frame continues to fill out, there is a chance for even more impact from the right side.
