The Senior Future Games took place on July 22-23 at LakePoint in Emerson, Georgia. Top uncommitted prospects in the class of 2026 participated in one of the most popular events each year.
We caught up with some of the state's standout performers who competed on Team WestCoast to hear about their highlights on the weekend, overall experience at LakePoint, and what their recruitment process has looked like since attending the event.
Emmett Kopp, 2026, RHP, JSerra Catholic High School
In his junior season for JSerra Catholic, Kopp recorded 57 strikeouts across 42 innings, with an ERA of 2.33. Additionally, Kopp was able to control the strike zone, only surrendering 11 walks on the year. Kopp's pitch mix is highlighted by a strong fastball (89.3 MPH), which he pairs with a sharp sinker, curveball, and change-up.

Prep Baseball CA: Emmett, walk us through your performance at the Senior Future Games. How did you feel you did?
Kopp: "It was super fun. Obviously, the weather in Georgia was tough with all the rain delays, but once we got on the field and everything was organized, it was great. I felt like I pitched really well. I threw two innings and was able to shut them down. I had a lot of fun competing. The coaching staff did a great job, too. For a group of guys who didn’t really know each other, they created a family environment pretty quickly, which I really liked."
Prep Baseball CA: What was it like seeing all the college coaches and scouts at LakePoint for the first time?
Kopp: "I was kind of a late bloomer, so I didn’t really start doing this stuff until my senior year. I had never been at a showcase with that many coaches watching before, so it was pretty surprising. Once you’re on the mound, you kind of forget about everyone and just compete. But before the game, seeing all the coaches around the complex was pretty cool. I got to talk to a few afterward, and it was a great opportunity to make contacts and get seen."
Prep Baseball CA: What stood out about being part of Team West Coast?
Kopp: "I had played against some of the guys before, so I knew a few of them. I thought they did a great job selecting talent, but also good people. It was a competitive group. The competition overall was elite. Everyone there can play. That’s what makes it fun — you’re competing against high-level players every inning."
Prep Baseball CA: What advice would you give to a player attending the Senior Future Games next summer?
Kopp: "Make sure you rest up. It’s a long weekend, especially with weather delays. You have to be ready to perform when your name is called. Stay hydrated, bring electrolytes, and take care of your body. Georgia heat isn’t easy. Just be prepared and take it seriously."
Prep Baseball CA: How did your recruitment process change after the event?
Kopp: "It helped a lot. UC Irvine was there watching me, but they were kind of keeping their distance at first. That was the first time they really got to see me in person. After that, I stayed connected with my trainer, and he helped me get in front of them again, which built more exposure. GCU and USF were also there and reached out about visits, and that all stemmed from the event. There were a few other schools interested as well. The Future Games definitely opened doors."
Prep Baseball CA: What advice would you give someone going through the recruiting process?
Kopp: "Don’t feel like you have to commit right away. Some coaches will put pressure on you and say their spots are filling up, but sometimes that’s just a tactic. If it’s not the right fit, don’t rush it just because you want to announce a commitment. Be patient. I waited until the school I really wanted contacted me, and that made it worth it. Make sure you’re truly happy with your decision."
Prep Baseball CA: Looking ahead to your senior season, what are you most excited about?
Kopp: "Being committed is a big weight off my shoulders, but it also adds motivation. Now I know teams are going to want to beat me because I’m committed somewhere. High school season is different — there’s more competition, especially in Trinity League play. We’re facing top programs and top players, so that’s going to be really fun. I’m excited for it."
To start his senior season, the 6'7 hurler notched four strong innings, fanning eight batters in the process. Kopp hopes to continue having a successful senior season before continuing his career at UC Irvine and ultimately beyond.
