2026 KSHSAA Team Preview: Baldwin Bulldogs

Prep Baseball Kansas Staff

The Kansas high school baseball season kicks off on Mar. 19, opening day for regular season action under KSHSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2026 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down to the official Prep Baseball Kansas Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

Our 2026 preseason coverage continues today.

2026 SEASON OUTLOOK

No. of Returning Position Players: 5
No. of Returning Pitchers: 3

Top Returners:

  • Tucker Bradley (2026) - P/IF
    • Stepped up big for us at the plate several times as a Junior last year and had 10 IP; will need him to step into a bigger role for us this year
  • Brayden Hirschmann (2026) - P/IF
    • Started the first game of the year for us on the mound and brings back our most IP with 37; proved to be a consistent strike thrower and someone who always wanted the ball on the mound.
  • Bryis Alford (2027) - IF/OF
    • Played all over the field for us last year (CF, SS, 2nd) and is a plus defender; has been a two year starter for us and had a great season in the fall as our QB
  • Landry Quick (2027) - P/C
    • Finished the season as one of our best pitchers and has the skills to be one of the best in our league; will more than likely take over as our primary catcher this Spring

Top Newcomers:

  • Johnny Torrez (2028) - P/IF
    • Stood out on the JV team last year on the mound, at the plate, and in the field; we think he could play a big role for us this year.

Key Players Lost:

Coach’s Insight: “We have a couple quality arms that we will lean heavily on this year and should be good defensively. We graduated most of our offensive production from last year and will have to get creative to manufacture runs this year. ” – Grant Bachura, head coach
