Yockey makes this list as arguably the best defensive third baseman and first baseman in the area. The Army commit has consistently impressed our staff over the years, making difficult plays at both third and first base. At 6-foot-4, 222 pounds, Yockey is a sneaky athlete who shows real potential at both corner spots, making him extremely valuable at the next level. We have a ton of confidence that he will be able to compete for a starting position at either corner when he gets to West Point.
This past year, we saw a good amount of Yockey at Creekside and Homefield with Building Champions, where he made a major impact highlighted by several key picks at first base that helped seal a Super 17 Championship for BC. During the high school season, Yockey played primarily at third base, giving Mill Valley a true defensive weapon on the left side. In the summer, he logged most of his innings at first base while also splitting time at third with Missouri commit Milo Burton.
