TEAM OUTLOOK
This is a young but experienced Mountaineers squad that is gearing up to improve on their finish from a year ago. Coach Sane and staff believe the youth of the program will be a good compliment to a hungry senior class that strives to leave the program better than they found it. Leading the way for North Murray is junior OF/LHP Anthony Skojac who looks the part of a 4-year impact player for the Mountaineers as he led the team in batting average, quality at-bats, and steals last season. The southpaw also brings experience to the pitching staff as he holds down a rotation spot. 1B Jayden Scott led the team in home runs and RBI’s a season ago and returns for his senior year as a key middle-of-the-order bat. Alongside Skojac, seniors INF/RHP Easton Parker and SS/OF/RHP Leonardo Hernandez are versatile pieces for Coach Sane as they will provide two-way value and senior leadership. 2026 2B Joel Mallett will look to provide consistency with strong production and bolster the infield defense up-the-middle. 2028 UTL Eddie Hernandez got his feet wet at the varsity level a year ago and performed well as he will be tasked to carry a larger role heading into the season. 2027 UTL Braydon Partin brings positional flexibility and is coming off a near everyday role as he will be relied upon for key production again. A group of juniors that strengthen the depth of the lineup and outfield defense include OF Harrison Horn and OF Kyler Bailey. Rounding out the rotation is 2028 RHP Jordan Coker who gained invaluable experience a year ago as he saw the most innings-pitched on the team by a wide margin. Experience returns behind the plate with sophomore C Cooper Baldridge who will be counted on for an important role. A pair of freshman candidates that could breakthrough and earn quality playing time in the starting lineup are 3B/SS Blake Favors and C Hank Usrey. Other underclass impact consists of names like 2029 OF/P Peyton Silvers, 2029 OF/2B Lucas Arthur, and 2029 OF Griffin Flood who could carve out roles as well. Coach Sane and staff are optimistic on the outlook this season as they strive to make it back to the GHSA playoffs for the first time since 2017.
