What Coach Is Saying:
"Our team's strength is their continuity on and off the field. These boys love being around each other and will always find ways to hang out. Our guys also my be younger as far as age, but we will lean on guys that have had the opportunity to play a lot of varsity innings, and that experience will hopefully come in handy over the season."
2026 SEASON OUTLOOK:
Boulder heads into the 2026 season carrying momentum with a roster that’s both young and hungry, and importantly, already tested at the 5A varsity level. Much of this group gained valuable experience last spring, and that early exposure could pay dividends as these underclassmen continue to mature.
The Panthers are led by a handful of position players who have already proven they can produce. Sam Skubic and Finn Torvik, both Prep Baseball Super Sophomore alumni, return with expectations after impactful 2025 campaigns. Alongside them, Nick Dubofsky emerges as one of the more intriguing rising sophomores in the state following a breakout performance at this summer’s Colorado State Games. Dubofsky brings a projectable two-way profile, highlighted by his upside on the mound where his pitchability, spin traits, and a fastball that climbed to 87 mph this summer give him a high ceiling moving forward. Senior Maks Matheson also projects for a strong spring as the U Mary commit comes with active strength, a frame to dream on, and a top event exit velocity over 99 mph.
Offensively, Matheson, Skubic, and Torvik form the backbone of the lineup after each hit over .320 last season, providing Boulder with a reliable core in the heart of the order. Their ability to consistently apply pressure will be key as the Panthers look to support a young pitching staff.
If Boulder can find quality innings and continued development on the mound, the pieces are in place for this group to take a noticeable step forward. With experience already banked and upside throughout the roster, 2026 could be the year the Panthers make a legitimate push in the postseason.
