2026 OUTLOOK

+ Louisville enters the 2026 season looking to turn the page after a 7–18 campaign and a first-round playoff exit in Class 4A, returning a young but competitive core that gained valuable varsity experience a year ago. Under head coach Dalton Luke, the Wildcats are focused on development and building momentum in District 4, with several underclassmen poised to take on expanded roles this spring.

Offensively, Louisville brings back a trio of key contributors who provide versatility across the diamond. Josh Ammons (2026) profiles as a true utility piece with two-way value, capable of impacting the lineup while also providing innings on the mound. Tyler Glenn (2026) returns as a steady presence behind the plate and in the infield, giving the Wildcats defensive flexibility while anchoring the middle of the order. Kayleb White (2027) adds athleticism to the outfield and left-handed balance to the lineup, projecting as an emerging offensive piece as he continues to develop.

On the mound, the Wildcats will lean on a pair of young arms in Mitchell Turner (2027) and Jaeden Hughes (2028). Both pitchers are expected to take on increased responsibility this season, with Turner providing right-handed depth and Hughes bringing upside as a developing underclass arm. How quickly this duo settles into consistent roles will be a key storyline for Louisville throughout the spring.

Additional 2027s are pushing for meaningful varsity opportunities, including Trey Tippett (2027), Bryce Stricklen (2027), and Braydon Rogers (2027). Each brings infield versatility with two-way potential, giving the Wildcats multiple options as they sort out defensive alignments and pitching depth.

The next wave of talent is led by underclassmen Josiah Nunn (2028), an athletic outfield profile, and Kayden Moore (2028), a middle-infield arm with developing two-way tools. Both represent important pieces for Louisville’s long-term outlook and could factor into the rotation as the season progresses.

With a developing pitching staff, versatile position players, and a growing group of underclass contributors, Louisville enters 2026 focused on building consistency and establishing identity. If the Wildcats can get steady production from their returning core and accelerate the development of their young arms, they have the foundation to take steps forward in Class 4A this spring.
