The Oklahoma high school baseball season kicks off on Feb. 23 for classes A and B and Mar. 1 for classes 2A-6A, opening day for regular season action under OSSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2025 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down to the official Prep Baseball Oklahoma Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

Coach’s Insight: “We will be pretty young, but we are adding some solid freshmen that can play multiple positions. We also have a group of experienced upperclassmen that should be our top pitchers. We will need to be better defensively this year. Our top arms should keep us in most games, so our fielding needs to improve from last year.” – Stan Blundell, head coach

Outlook: Kingfisher returns a strong core of contributors from a year ago that will pay dividends throughout district play as well as throughout the highly competitive 4A. Further, they'll welcome freshmen that have an opportunity to contribute right away. As the spring gets underway, pitching and defense will have a strong correlation to the overall success of the Yellowjackets. Expect Coach Blundell and his staff to have their squad playing their best at the end of the year as underclassmen gain valuable experience and develop at the varsity level.
