Scouting Report
Illinois-Chicago commit, currently ranked no. 11 in Wisconsin’s class. Standing at a 6-foot-4, 190-pound athletic frame, Carter was big for the Hitters in Saturday morning's pool play game. The right-handed hitter with a controlled but aggressive swing in the zone, came up big with a single in the gap to bring in two runs for the Hitters to take the lead in the top of the third inning. Finishing 1-for-2 from the plate and giving them a 6-5 win.
The UIC commit had a nice week for Arrowhead. At the plate, Carter had five hits in seven at bats along with a walk, three runs scored and an RBI. Carter also got the win on the mound against Whitnall, tossing five innings, allowing four earned runs, four hits, three walks, and had six strikeouts.
Illinois-Chicago commit, stands at 6-foot-4, 182 pounds with clear room for added muscle throughout the frame. Carter is an athlete on the mound with developing feel to repeat, longer levers, consistently getting the arm up and time before working in line to the plate. Three pitch mix, the fastball sat 88-91 mph with carry throughout the outing, scattered command of the pitch, tough to barrel when landed up in the zone. The curveball is thrown hard at 80-82 mph with big 12/6 action with no hop out of the hand and feel to land throughout the zone in this look. The breaking ball looks like a future swing and miss pitch at the next level with more to dream on from the offering. The change up played at 84 mph and was thrown downhill with fade from a higher slot, another secondary with a ceiling with the potential to be a usable option against both handed batters. At the plate, the right-handed hitter, has been a constant presence in the middle of Arrowhead’s lineup this spring performing once again in front of our staff reaching base five times throughout the matchup. Twitchy right-handed swing with bat-to-ball traits and speed that translates to the basepaths.
+ RHP/OF Cameron Carter (Arrowhead, 2026; Illinois-Chicago commit) is a long, wiry, projectable 6-foot-4, 183-pound right-handed pitcher who continues to show the extremely high ceiling to his profile on the mound. Carter repeats an explosive delivery with an over-the-top release point, creating downhill angle and deception. His fastball was consistently over 90 mph, topping out at 91 mph. He deployed his nasty, late-biting curveball at an average of 84 mph, along with an 86 mph changeup that showed both depth and fade at the plate. Carter also showed off his abilities with the bat when he was squaring up balls consistently and recorded some loud contact up to 99 mph max exit velocity with his lightning quick swing. He also jumped 30 inches for his vertical jump showing off how athletic and explosive he is. Carter showed us exactly why he is a name to know in the state and why UIC was aggressive in recruiting the athletic right-hander with considerable upside.
