Team Previews are generated through a mixture of coaches' responses gathered through our perennial coaches questionnaires, as well as insight from Prep Baseball Staff. Stay tuned the next several weeks for the unveiling of Team Previews and the complete Power 25.

Overall Summary

Selah enters 2026 as an intriguing follow after making it to the 2A state semifinals a season ago. The Vikings will once again be led by RHP/INF Braxton Young. The junior can do it all on the field, pitching heavy innings last season while producing at or near the top of the batting order as well. Young's game was on display at last summer's PNW State Games, where he impressed against some of the best talent in the PNW. A major storyline for Selah in 2026 will be replacing the innings of graduated senior Rowdy Mullins. Sophomore arm Jack Kennedy got some run in his freshman season at the varsity level and may be asked to pitch more this spring. Drew Brewer is another underclassman to keep an eye on to help cover innings. The lineup will get a big boost from returning senior catcher Lucas Williams. A pair of juniors may also see an increased role offensively in Christian Keller and Emilio Mendoza. The Vikings schedule is highlighted by matchups with North Creek early on and Othello later in the spring. Look for Selah to once again lean on their top of the order talent and make another run in the 2A state playoffs.
