2026 OSSAA Team Preview: Hollis Tigers

Prep Baseball Oklahoma Staff

The Oklahoma high school baseball season kicks off on Feb. 23 for classes A and B and Mar. 1 for classes 2A-6A, opening day for regular season action under OSSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2025 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down to the official Prep Baseball Oklahoma Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

Our 2026 preseason coverage continues today.

High School: Hollis
Head Coach: Derick Hodges (5 years)
Classification: A
2025 Record (Finish): 16-15

2026 SEASON OUTLOOK

No. of Returning Position Players: 8
No. of Returning Pitchers: All of them return

Top Returners:

  • Matt Parker, CF/P, Junior 2027, 6'3", 170, L/L.
    • Very talented player with a high baseball IQ, can throw multiple pitches as a southpaw with fastball running low-mid 80s last year as a sophomore. Strong defense, best hitter in the lineup, should be our #1 pitcher as well.
  • Kreid McQueen, C/SS, Senior 2026, 6'2", 205, R/R.
    • Field general type of player, workhorse behind the plate, understands the game with a high baseball IQ, strong arm and good pop time. Offensively has good power and can hit for average as well.
  • Sean Snellings, P/OF, Soph 2028, 6'1" 170, L/L.
    • All around player with good pop in the bat offensively. Coming along very nicely as a pitcher, won a game on the mound as a starter in regionals as a Freshman. Multiple pitches as a lefty that can mix it up, fastball will be low-mid 80s as a sophomore.

Top Newcomers:

  • Jake Parker, C/SS, Freshman 2029, 5'9", 165, R/R.
    • Jake is a well rounded player for a freshman. He has been around the game a lot and we look for him to be an immediate spark plug for us. He will give valuable innings in the middle infield as well as catcher and will not skip a beat. Good offensive player as well, will put the ball in play more times than not.

Key Players Lost: 1

Coach’s Insight: “Our team strengths are experience, high work ethic and strong defense. We return 8 starters from a talented 2025 team who competed at a high level versus quality competition. We are a year older and look to work hard to achieve goals. We remain hungry on our quest for a state championship. If we have any weaknesses, I'd say it's that we don't know what it's like to play in the state tournament. That can be an advantage or disadvantage/weakness depending on how the kids look at it. ” – Derick Hodges, head coach

Outlook: Hollis returns nearly their entire team from a year ago - a squad that finished above .500 and primed to take another step forward in Class A in 2026. Along with the returning experience, the Tigers will also welcome underclassmen into the fold in what will be a talented lineup. Keep an eye on Hollis among the contenders in what will be a very competitive Class A throughout the spring.
