The 2026 Texas high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Texas.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Austin at the UIL State Tournament in June, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Texas. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 30 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

TEAM OUTLOOK

The Irvin Rockets enter the 2026 season with a veteran-heavy roster looking to rebound from a challenging 2025 campaign. The team is anchored by a significant core of returning talent, including eight position players and a combined six pitchers from the previous year’s rotation and bullpen. This deep well of experience is expected to be a primary strength as the Rockets aim to re-establish the competitive standard that led them to a bi-district championship just two years ago.

The Rockets' lineup features several key senior prospects, including outfielders Joseph Davila and Julian Chacon, as well as utility Robert Quimiro. Complementing this senior leadership is a promising 2027 class led by two-way players Anthony Badajosa and Adrian Frescas, both of whom contribute as pitchers and infielders. Under the guidance of Head Coach David Cardona, Irvin will rely on this blend of seasoned upperclassmen and developing underclassmen to navigate their schedule and climb back into postseason contention.
