2026 High School Team Preview: Therrell Panthers

The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the GHSA or GIAA state playoffs, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each GHSA classification and Power 25.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each GHSA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

TEAM OUTLOOK

The 2025 season marked a strong step forward for Therrell High School baseball as the program continued building a winning culture. The Panthers put up some solid wins in ‘25 behind the development of returning players to compete at a high-level through improved fundamentals, baseball IQ, and mental toughness. The progress made has positioned the program to continue to make leaps in 2026.” It starts with two breakouts from a year ago, 2028 MIF/3B Quinterion Thurman and 2027 1B/OF Traveon Banks who will lead the way for the Panthers. MIF/3B Quinterion Thurman, boasts strong tools across the board, and led the team in multiple offensive categories last season as he remains a staple at the top of the lineup in ‘26. 1B/OF Traveon Banks was a consistent piece in the heart of the order a year ago and showed well with runners on, and is going to be relied upon to do so once again. Senior outfielders including Chase Gray and Jacobi Turner both hit over .350 last season and return as important pieces in the lineup. Anchoring the rotation is junior RHP/1B Jaylen Dumas as SP1 as he is armed with pitchability and upside in the 6-foot-3 frame, and thrives in the moment. 2026 UTL Raysean Eberhart will provide swiss-army knife production for Coach Christian and staff. Eberhart holds down a spot at the top of the rotation and brings speed to the top of the order as he sparkplugs the offense. Junior 1B Cameron Corbin saw quality time last year as he aims to supply consistency out of the corner infield spot. Two freshmen including 2B/RHP Deuante Robinson Jr. and C/OF Drakeo Farley Jr. are two key starters that will look to make an impact from day one. Robinson also holds two-way value as he bolsters the depth of the rotation. Junior P Larry Lockhart rounds out the rotation and will look to take on a bigger role in ‘26. “The Therrell Panthers are prepared to take the next step as they return a strong core of players and staff. The foundation has been laid, and the expectations moving forward are to compete at a high level, represent Panther Trail with pride, and continue building a winning tradition.
