2026 OSSAA Team Preview: Ada Cougars

Prep Baseball Oklahoma Staff

The Oklahoma high school baseball season kicks off on Feb. 23 for classes A and B and Mar. 1 for classes 2A-6A, opening day for regular season action under OSSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2025 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down to the official Prep Baseball Oklahoma Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

Our 2026 preseason coverage continues today.

Coach’s Insight: “Senior heavy group with a senior heavy pitching staff. Runs will be at a premium, relying heavily on our pitchers” – Shane Coker, head coach

Outlook: Ada returns a talented, senior heavy group in 2026 coming off a heartbreaking end to the season against a talented Chickasha team. They will be stout on the mound and will rely on steady pitching and defense, a championship formula, to win games in a highly competitive 4A. Offensively, they'll need to put pressure on teams often, but will continue to rely on their talented rotation of seniors Brock Boyles, Chalin Robertson, and Kyler Gaddis. Despite losing a talented group of seniors a year ago, the Cougars have the makings of a club that will play fundamental, discipline baseball when it matters most and the calendar flips to May.
