2026 High School Team Preview: Pike County Pirates

The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the GHSA or GIAA state playoffs, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each GHSA classification and Power 25.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each GHSA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

TEAM OUTLOOK

The Pike County Pirates had a successful season that ended in a Sweet Sixteen run a year ago and they look to build off it in ‘26 backed by a strong lineup with experienced underclassmen. Senior leadership comes in the way of OF MT Moody, preseason first team all-state selection, who will pace the offense once again. More returning production litters the lineup with names like 2027 OF Jarrett Morris and 2028 INF Walker Stiltner, who are strong bats and immediately strengthen the lineup as a whole. Sophomore SS Kobe Ivester has shown well in our looks at Lakepoint as he is armed with a present feel to hit and is going to be another consistent piece in the lineup. 2027 RHP/UTL Alan Majoros anchors the staff as SP1 and operates in the mid 80’s with plenty of upside in the 6-foot-4 frame, and boasts defensive versatility as well. Alongside Majoros, junior RHP/1B Max Harris and sophomore RHP/C Brody Adams hold down spots in the rotation and could be tasked to carry two-way roles. Rounding out the rotation is senior LHP/OF Sawyer Selman who brings invaluable experience to the staff and provides strong bat-to-ball skills with the ability to stick anywhere in the lineup. The Pirates and Coach Parrott have intentions of competing for a region title and making a deep postseason run behind a talented, gritty group that loves to compete and plays the game the right way.
