Louisiana JUCO baseball officially opened play last week, ushering in another spring of high-level competition across the Bayou State. With rosters stacked with impact transfers, proven returners, and legitimate next-level talent, opening week wasted no time setting the tone for what looks to be a highly competitive season. Early results featured explosive offensive performances, deep and versatile pitching staffs, and a number of emerging contributors making their presence felt. • LSU-Eunice freshman Andrew Clapinski went 5-for-12 (.417) with a 2B, RBI, and 2 R.
• LSU-Eunice freshman Rowen Bergeron went 2-for-6 (.333) with a 3B & R.
• LSU-Eunice redshirt sophomore Mason Bordelon went 3-for-9 (.333) with a 2B, 3 RBI, & R.
• LSU-Eunice sophomore McCray Jacobs picked up the win in Game 1 against Murray State College after tossing 3.2 shutout innings with 0 BB & 2 K.
• LSU-Eunice redshirt freshman Beau Revord was nails in his relief appearance in Game 1 against Murray State College. Revord tossed 3 innings and allowed only 1 hit with 1 BB & 3 K.
• LSU-Eunice sophomore Hunter Gambel picked up the Game 3 win in relief for the Bengals on Sunday to secure the series win over Murray State College. Gambel threw 4 shutout innings with only 1 BB & 6 K.
• Bossier Parish CC freshman Braylin Harris went 2-for-4 (.500) with a RBI, R, & 4 stolen bases on the weekend.
• Bossier Parish CC freshman Kash Martin went 2-for-6 (.333) with a BB on the weekend.
• Bossier Parish CC sophomore Jackson Reifel threw 3 scoreless innings in relief in Game 1 against Eastern Oklahoma State College.
• Baton Rouge CC sophomore Brayden Bertucci went 2-for-5 (.400) for the Bears.
• Baton Rouge CC sophomore Kenneth Berard went 1-for-3 (.333) with a RBI & 2 BB for the Bears.
• Baton Rouge CC freshman Brecken Bordelon went 2-for-4 (.500) with a stolen base for the Bears.
