2026 Tulsa Preseason ID: Quick Hits

Prep Baseball Oklahoma hosted the Tulsa Preseason ID at World Baseball Outreach on Monday, January 19th featuring players from the 2026 to some up-and-coming prospects of the 2029 class. The event featured a pro-style workout with BP, defensive evaluations, laser timed 30 yard dashes, and bullpens. The event was tracked with data from our tech partners Trackman, Blast Motion, and Vald.
Today we take a look at some of the top performers from the event with quick notes and videos on players with a strong showing.

QUICK HITS
+ INF/RHP Kase Adams (Sallisaw, 2027) showcased the ability to impact games with both the bat and on the mound at the Tulsa Preseason ID. In all facets, he showcased his consistent development that started with his bullpen. The Sallisaw product utilized a fastball/curveball mix with the FB working up to 85 mph with 18.3” max IVB. Offensively, Adams boasts a physical, middle of the order presence with an exit velo up to 93.4 mph that saw him lean on balls to the pull side with comfort elevating balls with backspin. A balanced, all around showing, he is an exciting name to follow with the ability to impact games in a variety of ways for a talented Sallisaw team.

Kase Adams
+ INF/RHP Logan Crawford (Charles Page, 2028) flashed massive upside in all phases of his game. Explosive athleticism from a physical frame, the Sand Springs product flashed big upside both at the plate and on the mound with a max exit velo of 105.9 mph and a fastball up to 88.2 mph. A physically imposing 6’0” and 220 pounds, Crawford showed massive power potential with middle of the order upside with an 87.5% Hard Hit % (batted balls of 95 mph or greater) consistently delivering the barrel with authority. On the mound, the power mix flashed a clear foundation with the opportunity to develop further in the future. Massive upside throughout his game, he is a name to know that will compete for a talented Sandite squad this spring.

Logan Crawford
+ C/OF Nash Denove (Metro Christian, 2029) showed athleticism throughout his game that included defensive versatility, an efficient offensive move, and a consistent gap to gap approach throughout BP. He set personal bests across the board that highlighted his development and upward trajectory. Offensively, he utilizes a simple offensive move working through the middle of the yard while staying in the zone for an extended period. Defensively, Denove is primarily a catcher, we saw both his athleticism and consistently improving arm strength on display that also allows him to excel in the outfield.The Metro Christian product showed tools to impact games on both sides of the ball throughout the Tulsa Preseason ID and is a name to follow into the 2026 spring.
+ INF Karter Fields (Muskogee, 2028) showcased a strong foundational skillset from a developing frame at the Tulsa Preseason ID. The RHH infielder showed the ability to work through the middle of the field and drive ball through the middle of the field. Further, his 85% Sweet Spot % illustrates his ability to drive balls over the infield. Defensively, Fields proved to be sure-handed on the infield while playing with good pace. The sophomore is a name to follow into the 2026 spring as he looks to impact a Muskogee squad in a variety of areas.
+ INF Bradley Hastings (Bishop Kelley, 2028) put together a massive showing at the Tulsa Preseason ID that once again saw growth and development throughout his game. Plenty of present ability, Hastings also flashed the massive upside in all parts of his game. The switch hitting infielder consistently delivered the barrel with authority and put up some big metrics as a result - 102.3 mph max EV, 97.2 mph avg EV, a 91% Sweet Spot %, and 100% Hard Hit %. To finish his day, he showed advanced feet on the infield with a rangey 6’3” frame and was up to 89 mph across the infield. Coming off a huge freshman year at Bishop Kelley, the 2028 grad looks primed to pick up where he left off.

+ OF/RHP William Jacobi (Bishop Kelley, 2029) showcased a discipline approach throughout BP along with command of a three pitch mix on the mound. The 2-way prospect worked through the middle of the yard throughout BP with comfort elevating balls to the pull side that will pay dividends as he continues to develop physically. On the mound, Jacobi attacked the strike zone with his entire mix highlighted by the fastball that showed ride with up to 17.5” IVB. The Bishop Kelley product will continue to grow and develop after showcasing a strong foundational skillset at the Tulsa Preseason ID.
+ INF Tyler Klugh (Victory Christian, 2028) showcased his advanced actions on the infield with plenty of upside at the Tulsa Preseason ID. A long and lean frame, the Victory Christian product displayed sound actions throughout his game. Offensively, an efficient move produced line drives through the middle of the field that will continue to develop into extra base hits with added strength in the future. Defensively, we saw Klugh’s athleticism really play with sure-handed play, good first step, and comfort moving to both his right and left. He will be a fun player to follow through the spring and into the next couple years of his career with continued physical development.
+ 1B/RHP Brock Nehring (Jenks, 2029) flashed massive upside throughout his game with a strong foundational skillset along with a highly projectable frame. The right hander gives you plenty to be excited about on the mound with a 6’2” frame and attacking the strike zone. The fastball shows signs of having ride and playing well off a tunneled changeup. Offensively, the Jenks product showed an easy offensive move despite the long levers. As he matures, those long levers will produce more extra base hits as he continues to build on a disciplined approach. The Tulsa Preseason ID gave us our first look at Nehring and he instantly becomes an exciting follow with his best baseball still in front of him.
+ LHP Zion Ova (Paola (KS), 2029) emerged as a highly projectable prospect with a 6’3” frame and athleticism throughout his delivery. He attacked the zone consistently, working the fastball up to 83.7 mph and frequently landing the pitch in the bottom of the zone. The secondary offerings, the slider and the changeup, add to the upside and projectability of the Paola High School (KS) product. Already in command of each pitch, the slider tunneled well with the fastball and will continue to improve further with added physical maturity. In our first look at Ova, he showcased the big projectability that will make him an exciting follow throughout his career.
+ OF/RHP Brynden Putnam (Edmond Santa Fe, 2028) showcased a balanced skillset throughout the Tulsa Preseason ID. Offensively, the Edmond Santa Fe product showed a disciplined BP round that saw him consistently using the middle of the yard with comfort staying behind the baseball. On the mound, the right hander showed the ability to land his entire 4-pitch mix and consistently attacked the bottom half of the zone. Further, he utilized two different breaking balls with distinctly different shapes. Putnam will be a name to follow with a balanced skillset that can contribute in a variety of ways to help his team.
+ OF/RHP Jasper Reid (Broken Arrow, 2028) once again showed a steady skillset that has made him a difference maker in each opportunity we have had to see him. The balance in his game shined throughout the Tulsa Preseason ID with personal bests in various facets. Offensively, the switch hitting outfielder was up to a 97.8 mph exit velocity as well as an 89.9 mph average. The Broken Arrow product delivered the barrel with authority to go along with the consistent approach through the middle of the field. Defensively, we also saw the continued development with added strength as he was up to 86 mph. A ball player in every sense, Reid also showcased his athleticism on the mound with a mid 80s fastball as part of a 3-pitch mix consistently landing each in the zone. He will be a huge part of a talented Broken Arrow squad this spring as they look to make another 6A state tourney run in 2026.

+ INF Cal Shields (Stroud, 2028) put up a monster day at the Tulsa Preseason ID that further showcased his development over the course of the fall and winter months. The left handed hitting infielder consistently used the entire yard throughout BP, but also showed comfort elevating with backspin to the pull side. His day was littered with personal bests that included a 94.7 mph max EV and 86.6 mph average. Defensively, arm strength will continue to develop with added physical maturity, but he showed to be sure-handed as his athleticism showed in his actions. The Stroud product will be a name to know after an impactful freshman year for the Tigers.

+ LHP/INF Blaine Stafford (Moore, 2029) showcased an exciting present skillset as well as speaking to massive future upside. The 2-way showed the ability to impact games in a variety of ways with the day first starting on the mound. The left hander was in command of his entire three pitch mix with two of the offerings flashing advanced metrics. The fastball showed good ride with up to 2331 RPMs and 13.4” IVB and worked to both sides of the dish. The slider is the difference maker, however, from a high 3/4 slot it was tunneled off the fastball with up to 14.9” HM and 2369 RPMs that could continue to develop into a plus offering at the varsity level with added strength and maturity. Offensively, Stafford’s athleticism showed up in an efficient offensive move that saw him drive the baseball from gap to gap. Moore will be a team to watch this spring and Stafford’s skillset could help him contribute early at the varsity level.
+ 1B Zane Taylor (Claremore, 2028) showcased a physical middle of the order presence throughout a loud round of BP. The Claremore product’s offseason of work and development was evident with personal bests and visible hard work in the weight room. Moving easier and letting his athleticism play, Taylor drove balls to both alleys and was up to 97.8 mph EV with an average of 88.9 mph. He also showed added quickness at first base that has contributed to sure-handedness on the corner. Taylor’s work through the offseason will potentially give him an opportunity to contribute for traditional power Claremore as they look for another state tournament run in 2026.
+ INF Andrew Thaxton (Edmond Memorial, 2027) showed athleticism throughout his day at the Tulsa Preseason ID despite an exceptionally long frame. A big frame, Thaxton showcased the ability to use his long levers to deliver personal bests throughout the day. Offensively, he was up to a 92.9 mph max EV and used 20.4g Rotational Acceleration speaking to the efficiency in how he was creating force. Defensively, Thaxton consistently put himself in good positions allowing his feet to work and receive the ball out front. A physical, long athlete that showed the ability to impact the game in a variety of ways, will look to contribute for a loaded Edmond Memorial squad in 2027.
+ INF Cale Thompson (Checotah, 2026) flashed his big upside with athleticism from a 6’3” and 198 pound frame. He used an easy, controlled offensive move to consistently drive balls through the middle of the field. He was steady throughout BP with a 93.5 mph max EV as well as an 87.3 mph average. The Checotah product also defended on both corners of the infield, was sure-handed throughout, and provided a big target for infielders at first base. Thompson will be a name to follow as the rangey athlete showcased a strong present skillset but his upside and projectability point to his best baseball still being in the future.
