2026 SEASON OUTLOOK
No. of Returning Position Players: 7
No. of Returning Pitchers: 5
Top Returners:
- Zay Jarvis: SS, Soph., 6’2”, 175, R/R
Returning starting All-District SS will look build upon a good freshman season. Look for him to move from 2-hole to middle of the lineup on offense. Zay has had a good offseason adding strength and size as well as getting faster. His arm has gotten stronger and he has added some pop in the bat. He will be an anchor for this team on both offense and defense. He is a long rangy infielder. Look for him to have a breakout season and be a player to watch. - Luke Rudick: RHP, Soph., 6’, 195, R/R
Returning starting pitcher who finished his freshman year as one of the team’s top arms. He has added strength and velocity to his fastball to complement his established changeup that he leaned on heavily last year. He should be a district arm this year. - Ian Malicott: LHP, OF, Sr, 6’1” 170 L/L
Ian returns as the leadoff hitter who produces an OBP over .600 last season. He also added some power in his bat that should lead to more extra base hits this year. He will roam the outfield as a corner OF starter and also get starts on the mound as a LHP. - Collin Brafford: LHP/OF, Soph., 5’6”, 145, L/L
Collin is one of our most valuable returning players. He was used as the primary relief pitcher last season and came into games in high leverage situations and was un-hittable. He has sneaky velocity that has increased from last season to go with very good secondary pitches. He started games last season against Silo and Chickasha and pitched into extra innings in both giving up 1 in each through 8. Collin could be a district arm or could be utilized again as a shutdown relief arm. When he isn’t pitching he is a very good defender on the OF. He also will look to hit in the top couple of order spots this year. - Dawson Hedge: 3B/RHP, Soph., 6’2”, 180, R/R
Dawson is the returning starting 3rd baseman and will look to hit in the middle of the order again this year. He is an excellent defensive player at 3rd. He also has gained size and strength since last season and will continue to be someone to have on the radar. He also returns as a starting RHP. He threw 3 complete game wins last season and started several district games. He will look to earn a spot in this year’s crowded starting rotation as well.
Top Newcomers:
- Britton Martin: RHP, Soph., 6’4”, 235, R/R Britton is a huge addition this season and adds another high quality arm. He will be competing to be a district arm and should be one of the top performers this season. He was a district arm as a freshman at his former school. Britton has worked hard in the weight room this fall and will have velocities that will get in the upper 80s to pair with his slider and cutter.
- Sutton Goshorn: RHP, JR, 5’9” 130, R/R : Sutton missed last season due to injury but was a district starter his freshman year. Sutton has some of the best pichability on the team and can command all of his pitches giving offenses a lot of trouble. He is Mr consistent and will inevitably carve out his role on this year’s squad as either a starter or a huge role as a reliever helping out Brafford out of the pen. Sutton is also competing for a starting spot on the field when not on the mound.
- Aaden Miller: DH/ Utility, Jr., 5’10” 150, R/R. Aaden is new to us this year and will provide a quality bat in the lineup. Aaden has very good bat to ball skills and finds consistent barrels. He looks to be a mainstay in the offensive lineup. On defense he will serve as a utility player that can play in different positions as well as providing some depth on the mound. He was also a district starter at his previous school. Aaden is a great addition to the team.
Key Players Lost:
- Easton Martin (Redlands CC)
Coach’s Insight: “This year’s team is special. The team chemistry is really good and they love to play. We look to be a well rounded team that returns with a lot of experience from last year and a hunger for more. We should be a very good defensive team, and they have a good understanding of our team approach to offense. We will be multi-dimensional on offense with the ability to swing it or play the bunt game as well to put pressure on defenses. While we return almost every one from a year ago, we are still a young team and are sophomore heavy.” – Austin Jarvis, head coach
Outlook: Berryhill returns a talented core with many gaining valuable experience as freshmen. Offensively, the Chiefs will consistently pressure defenses with a dynamic group that boasts above average team speed. However, like many championship caliber teams, this year's Berryhill squad will play above average defense as well as pitch it at a high level. The winning formula of steady pitching and defense will put them in the mix to make a run through the state tournament in May from a team that won 30 games a season ago. Do not be surprised to see a team that is this balanced compete at a high level throughout 2026.
