TEAM OUTLOOK

Etiwanda enters the 2026 season coming off a CIF Southern Section Division 2 Playoff semifinal appearance. With a veteran feel and one of the deeper pitching staffs in the area, as head coach Don Furnald welcomes back six starters and six pitchers from last year’s 17-13 club. With pitching depth and a returning roster as clear strengths, the Eagles should be able to withstand the grind of a long schedule and stay competitive throughout league play. The continuity across the roster gives Etiwanda a chance to play with confidence early and build momentum as the season progresses.

The senior class provides stability at key positions. SS Angel Mejia (2026) will anchor the infield, bringing leadership and defensive reliability up the middle, while C Luke Severns (2026) gives the staff a steady presence behind the plate. In the outfield,OF LJ Roellig (2026) adds speed and athleticism, while providing run production potential in the box. On the mound, the junior trio of RHP Michael Aleman (2027), RHP Noah Frias (2027), and RHP/3B Jaxson Milius (2027) form the backbone of a staff that can mix and match arms in both starting and relief roles, giving the Eagles flexibility throughout the season.

Looking ahead, INF/RHP Nathan Perez (2029) is a name to watch as a young two-way talent who could push for innings sooner than later. With experience spread across the lineup and a deep group of returning pitchers, Etiwanda has the makeup of a team that can control games from the mound and defend at a high level. If the offense continues to mature around its veteran core, the Eagles have the pieces in place to build further off of their strong 2025 season.

Quote from the Coach

“We return a strong core and feel that we have the tools to win the Baseline League.”
