TEAM OUTLOOK
Wilson enters the 2026 season positioned for a potential step forward after a challenging 11-21 campaign in 2025 that did not result in a playoff appearance. While the win-loss record fell short of expectations, the Warriors played a demanding schedule and return nearly the entire roster, losing just one player from last season. That continuity, combined with valuable experience gained a year ago, sets the stage for a more competitive outlook in Class 4A Area 14.
The Warriors return a strong senior core that anchors both the lineup and pitching staff. SS/RHP Jack Darby (2026) returns as a dynamic two-way contributor after posting a .267 average with a .403 OBP, 27 hits, 30 runs, and 20 stolen bases, while also logging 46.2 innings on the mound with 40 strikeouts. INF/RHP Bryson Pickens (2026) adds another reliable bat and arm, finishing 2025 with a .264 average, .420 OBP, eight doubles, two home runs, and 20 RBIs, along with 59 strikeouts in 43 innings. At first base, 1B/RHP Cayden McCormack (2026) returns as a three-year starter and the team’s offensive leader, hitting .376 with a .517 OBP, 35 hits, and 19 RBIs, while also leading the staff with 54 innings pitched and a 3.24 ERA. UTL/RHP Brodie Pruitt (2026) rounds out the senior group as another three-year starter who provides versatility and run production in the lineup. Wilson’s underclass group brings additional continuity after gaining extensive varsity experience early. C Kellyn Churchwell (2028), OF Brody Shook (2028), and OF Rich Corum (2028) each started every game as freshmen in 2025 and return with a full season of varsity reps. UTL Kendan Farris (2028) adds depth and could factor into the pitching mix, while OF Trip Fowler (2029) returns after seeing action in 17 games as an eighth grader.
Experience defines Wilson’s identity entering 2026. The Warriors return every inning on the mound and 90 percent of their offensive production, including 173 of 192 hits from last season. Speed will also be a major factor, as five returning players recorded double-digit stolen bases a year ago. With eight seniors on a 14-man varsity roster, Wilson will rely on veteran leadership, aggressive baserunning, and a deep pitching staff to translate last season’s lessons into improved results. With roster continuity and experience across the board, the Warriors enter 2026 prepared to be more competitive in Class 4A Area 14.
