The 2026 Texas high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Texas.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Austin at the UIL State Tournament in June, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Texas. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 30 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

TEAM OUTLOOK

The Cedar Park Timberwolves enter the 2026 season looking to build upon the lessons of a 2025 campaign where they finished with an 11-15 record. Competing in Class 25-5A under the leadership of Head Coach Ben Huffman, the team will look to their defense as its primary strength. Despite the loss of key players like outfielder Bryce Schneider and pitcher Kyle McClure to graduation, both of whom were Second Team All-District selections, the Timberwolves return a significant portion of their roster.

The roster is anchored by several decorated returning players, most notably Oklahoma State commit Hudson Cuevas. Cuevas, a middle infielder from the class of 2027, returns as the reigning District Defensive MVP. He is joined in the field by experienced outfielders Mack Galindo and Cooper Camacho. In total, the Timberwolves boast eight returning position players, providing a veteran foundation for the lineup.

On the mound, Cedar Park retains two starting pitchers and three relief pitchers from last year's squad. The pitching staff is headlined by 2026 graduates Griffinn Giltrap, a First Team All-District Pitcher, and Damian Alonzo, who earned First Team All-District Reliever honors. This returning core will be supplemented by promising newcomers, including 2027 INF/RHP Dominic Naylor and freshman utility Myles Schopfer. Behind an experienced lineup and an upside pitching staff, the Timberwolves will look to earn a postseason berth in 2026.
