Fort Worth Preseason ID: Outfielder Analysis

On Friday, January 2nd, the PB Texas staff traveled to Weatherford College in Weatherford, TX, to host the Fort Worth Preseason ID, an open event for all high school classes.
More than 25 players made their way to Weatherford JC this past weekend and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball Texas staff.

Today, we take a look at the scouting reports on every outfielder in attendance.
ALL OUTFIELD PROSPECTS (LISTED ALPHABETICALLY)
William Hollifield, Mineral Wells (TX), 2027
Positional Profile: OF/LHP LHH OF Will add strength in future. Projects to be plus runner, 6.9 or better. Shows quickness, will have ability to get some SB's. Steady OF, ability to play all 3 OF spots. Project solid bat/power combo in future. Player with nice tools that will continue to develop. LHP looking for velocity to increase. Flashes secondary action.
Body: 5-6, 126 pounds. Sloping shoulders, good frame/build to add strength in future. Projects well.
Hit: LHH. Rotational back foot sliding away from plate with rotation. Work to take back foot forward towards pitcher to increase use of lower 1/2. Hits with solid posture at point of contact. Lands slightly closed with stride foot, stride foot stays into ground. Increase core strength with rotational exercises to improve rotational acceleration. Barrel/hands in good launch position. Barrel back, down and around to zone creating length to swing. Work to take direct path to hit zone with barrel shortening swing. Parker Hopson, Martin (TX), 2027
Positional Profile: OF/RHP RHH/INF/OF Projects well physically. Well above avg runner. Defensively has versatility, can play CF. Actions will firm on the infield. Project solid bat/power combo with adjustments. Athletic, can run. Watch development.
Body: 5-10, 183 pounds. Sloping shoulders, width to back. Solid lower showing nice present strength now. Projects well physically.
Hit: RHH. Rotational back foot, nice job using lower 1/2 in swing. Hits into firm front leg with solid posture. Stride foot stays into ground, hits from ground up. With stride back elbow and hands push up creating length to swing. Soften hand/elbow movement with stride,barrel works down and up now creating uphill path. Body: 5-5, 158 pounds. Avg width to shoulders and back. Solid lower.

Positional Profile: OF/1B LHH OF Great build/frame to add strength, projects well physically. Will be solid OF'r, moves well to baseball. Will have plenty of arm to play RF. Ability to impact baseball present, will continue to develop at plate. Prospect. LHP arm works, repeats delivery. Overall, around zone. Stuff will develop. Prospect on mound, watch develop.
Body: 6-3, 188 pounds. Width to shoulders and back, good middle/lower. Projects well physically.

Looks like trying lift baseball at times, work on creating hard line drive contact, elevating baseball will take care of itself. 65.7 mph bat speed with 8g of rotational acceleration.
