In his first year as the Loggers’ at the helm, Head Coach Steve Torricelli and Lincoln Land had plenty of firepower at the plate that led them to a 34-19 record and finished off their season at the Sub-Regional Championship game. Many of the regular players in last year’s lineup and pitching staff have since departed and will not be with the team in 2026. In order for Lincoln Land to continue the success that they have had in years past, they are going to need an inexperienced, yet talented squad to step up and continue that trend.

Hitters

In 2025, the Loggers had plenty of offensive firepower at the plate that led them to their 34-19 record, but a big chunk of that team has since departed from the squad. Of the 1,964 plate appearances taken last spring, Lincoln Land retains just four players that helped contribute to that total. If the Loggers wants to continue to have a high-powered offense in 2026, they will need a few key players from last year to lead a lineup with names that, for the most part, are yet to prove themselves at the JUCO level.

Returning to the Loggers lineup after a dominant 2025 season is So. MIF Nolan Turner. Turner saw the ball well last spring, hitting .345 on the year and could not be left off the basepaths. He almost sported a 2-to-1 BB/K ratio by collecting 45 walks to 23 strikeouts, which was good for a .487 on-base percentage on the season.

Also returning for the Loggers after successful 2025 campaigns are So. OF Colbie Glenn and So. INF Kaeden Bowles. Glenn was a regular in the lineup last spring and could potentially be an option at the top of the order this year. He enters the spring with the team’s second most plate appearances in 2025 (207), where he hit .279 with a .388 OBP, and had the most bases stolen of any returning player with 11. Bowles also had a strong season at the plate in 2025, hitting .291 in his 134 at-bats. With plenty of opportunities opening up due to departures from last year’s squad, expect both Colbie Glenn and Kaedan Bowles to be able to add both stability while making a big impact within this lineup. Jack Ford is another returning name of note that could provide help from the left side of the plate. Ford hit .289 last year in his 33 games played and was also tough to keep off the basepaths, posting an OBP of .445 on the season.

So. 1B Jack Swaney (Northern Illinois) and So. C Michael Roberson (John. A Logan) are a pair of sophomore transfers that were brought in that will likely see opportunities to make an impact at the plate. RFr. INF Scout Moffatt was also brought in from Kentucky Wesleyan that could make an impact, and keep an eye on both Fr. 3B Alex Barnes and RFr. OF Trevor Geis to potentially find opportunities within the lineup as well.

Pitchers

Much like the offense, Lincoln Land will enter the year with a pitching staff that looks a lot different than last spring. There is only one pitcher on the 2026 staff that made a start on the mound in 2025, and even then, it was a one-time occurrence. For the most part, this pitching staff features returning arms that saw limited action out of the bullpen last year, as well as a few new faces that have been transferred in. If the Loggers want to continue the success that they had in 2025, then they will need some arms to build off of the experience they had gained last spring and translate that into some increased results in 2026.

Even though the rotation may have a couple question marks heading into 2026, something we think is pretty clear is that So. RHP Garrick Winkeler will emerge as a leader within this Lincoln Land pitching staff in 2026. He found consistent innings across his 13 outings last spring in a long-reliever role, finishing the season with a 3-0 record with a 3.69 ERA in 31.2 innings pitched.

 Garrick Winkeler

Despite all of last year’s rotation having moved on from the team, Lincoln Land sees the return of So. RHP Bryce Buhs or So. RHP Max Powers. Buhs made the lone start of any returning arm from 2025 and logged 17.2 innings of work across his 11 appearances. Powers arms saw double-digit opportunities out of the bullpen for the Loggers last spring, and will be looking to build upon last year. Both are set to see more action in the staff this year. Also returning to the Lincoln Land staff is So. RHP Luke Goss and So. RHP Henry Cooper, who both saw limited action out of the ‘pen in 2025.

 Max Powers

Joining the Loggers’ staff as transfers are RFr. Jack Wheeler (Valparaiso) and So. LHP Patrick Wajda (Milwaukee Area). Expect to also see RFr. Joe Stellano see some time on the mound this season. All three arms will be new faces to the mound for Lincoln Land and are in a position to help make an impact for this pitching staff.
