2026 OUTLOOK

+ Enterprise-Lincoln heads into the 2026 season coming off a 17–12 campaign and a second-round playoff appearance in Class 2A, returning a battle-tested core with significant varsity experience on both sides of the ball. Under head coach Cass Brister, the Yellow Jackets bring back a lineup loaded with two-way contributors and a deep pitching staff, positioning the program as a tough out in District 7.

The offense is anchored by a group of seasoned upperclassmen who have logged meaningful at-bats in postseason environments. Shortstop/right-hander Kelly Burgess (2026, Southwest Mississippi CC) serves as the catalyst, bringing leadership, defensive stability up the middle, and impact potential in the box while also headlining the pitching staff. Ryder Martin (2026, Southwest Mississippi CC) adds a physical corner presence at third base with run-producing ability and continues to provide value as a power arm. Haygan Floyd (2027, Southwest Mississippi CC) offers versatility across the infield while showing two-way upside that continues to trend upward.

Cooper Jordan (2026) supplies utility flexibility and mound depth, while catcher Tucker Vining (2026) gives the Yellow Jackets a steady presence behind the plate, tasked with managing a deep staff and controlling the run game. AJ Raiford (2026) brings athleticism in center field with speed on the bases and additional innings on the mound, rounding out a lineup built on versatility and matchup flexibility.

On the mound, Enterprise-Lincoln returns one of the deeper pitching groups in the classification. Burgess, Martin, Jordan, Raiford, and Floyd form a strong core capable of handling starting roles, while Jack Moffett (2026) and Hayden Teaster (2026) provide added depth and multiple looks for opposing lineups. This collection of arms gives the Yellow Jackets the ability to manage workloads, play matchups, and maintain competitiveness deep into series play.

The next wave is already emerging, led by infielder Ripken Powell (2028), who represents a developing underclass presence with long-term upside.

With a veteran lineup, multiple two-way contributors, and a staff that features both depth and experience, Enterprise-Lincoln enters 2026 positioned to build on last spring’s postseason run. If the Yellow Jackets continue to get consistent production from their core and solidify roles on the mound early, they have the pieces in place to make another push in Class 2A.
