Team Preview
The West Feliciana Saints enter the 2026 season with unfinished business after a heartbreaking three-game quarterfinal series loss to eventual Non-Select Division II State Champion North DeSoto, where all three contests were decided by a single run. That experience has left a sour taste in the mouths of players and coaches alike — and has fueled a focused, hungry offseason in St. Francisville.
The Saints return one of the most dangerous lineups in Class 4A, featuring seven of nine starters back from a team that hit .297 collectively in 2025. Offensive depth and production will once again be the foundation of this club. Coach Gannon Achord’s lineup is balanced with speed, power, and experience, capable of putting up crooked numbers in any inning.
The biggest question mark for 2026 lies on the mound. The Saints lost nearly 160 innings of experience from last year’s staff, leaving several new arms to step into larger roles. While there’s no shortage of raw talent — with several pitchers already touching the mid-80s — finding consistent strike-throwers and developing a true No. 1 will be key if West Feliciana hopes to return to Sulphur.
Top Upperclassmen
-Junior C Mason Rogillio
One of the premier offensive players in Louisiana’s junior class, Rogillio has produced at a high level during his first two seasons for the Saints. A natural leader behind the plate and a feared bat in the middle of the order, he was 1st Team All-District and All-Metro as a sophomore.
-Senior 1B/C Cole Schexnayder
A steady senior presence who hit .330 with 11 extra-base hits last spring. Schexnayder provides versatility defensively and mature, competitive at-bats that lengthen the lineup.
-Senior OF Jack Sam Leak
At 6’2”, 195 lbs, Leak brings an impressive blend of size, speed, and power. He’s a 6.8 runner with legitimate juice from the right side and will be one of the Saints’ main run producers again in 2026.
-Junior INF/RHP Hollier Pierrelee
A returning starter who contributes both ways. Works in the mid-80s on the mound and is a reliable defender in the infield.
-Junior RHP/INF Tanner Savoy
Another two-way option with low-to-mid 80s velocity who can swing it with authority. Projected to see innings on the mound and corner infield time.
-Junior 1B/LHP Preston Bennett
A crafty lefty who can change speeds and mix shapes effectively, giving the Saints a different look from the left side.
-Junior INF/RHP Peyton Landry
Another talented junior arm in the mid-80s, with the potential to anchor the infield at shortstop.
Top Underclassmen to Watch
-Sophomore RHP Brooks Hebert
A name to remember. The 6’2”, 175-pound right-hander already works in the mid-80s with sharp off-speed. Also the starting quarterback for the football team, Hebert’s athleticism translates well to the mound and he could quickly become a key rotation piece.
-Sophomore C Emmett Whitman
A 6’2”, 185-pound backstop with a physical frame and advanced power at the plate. Adds even more offensive firepower to an already loaded lineup.
-Sophomore OF Parker Girlinghouse
A left-handed hitter with top-of-the-scale speed, Girlinghouse could win one of the open outfield jobs and provide an immediate spark at the top or bottom of the order.
-Sophomore RHP Jackson Rachal
Logged 15 varsity innings as a freshman, giving him valuable experience heading into his sophomore campaign.
Outlook
With one of the most explosive offenses in Class 4A and a core group of upperclassmen ready to lead, West Feliciana is built to make another deep postseason run. The trio of Rogillio, Schexnayder, and Leak gives Coach Achord a middle of the order few teams can match.
The key to the Saints’ 2026 success will be finding reliability on the mound. If one or two of their talented young arms emerge as consistent weekend starters, West Feliciana will have every opportunity to find themselves playing under the lights in Sulphur this spring.
Expect fireworks from one of the most potent lineups in the state — and don’t be surprised if the Saints are right back in the hunt for a 4A title.
