2026 OSSAA Team Preview: Deer Creek Antlers

Prep Baseball Oklahoma Staff

The Oklahoma high school baseball season kicks off on Feb. 23 for classes A and B and Mar. 1 for classes 2A-6A, opening day for regular season action under OSSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2025 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down to the official Prep Baseball Oklahoma Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

Our 2026 preseason coverage continues today.

Key Players Lost:

Coach’s Insight: “This team should be a well-rounded group with the ability to excel defensively, on the mound, and at the plate. If we face challenges this season, the youth of our team could be a factor.” – Andrew McGuire, head coach

Outlook: The Antlers took eventual 6A state champion Edmond Santa Fe everything they wanted and more before being walked off in the regional. Despite losing a talented class of seniors, the Antlers return a number of talented players across the diamond. Offensively, Coach McGuire will have numerous options to insert into the lineup with a mix of youth and experience. They should be dynamic with their ability to pressure teams on the bases and put together tough ABs throughout the lineup. On the mound, they'll once again pressure the opponent with strike throwers. A fundamental group that will not beat themselves, Deer Creek's youth should develop throughout the spring and won't be a team anyone wants to see in May.
