2026 OUTLOOK

+ Brentwood Academy enters the 2026 campaign looking to turn the page after an 8–17 finish in Division II–AA, returning a group that blends experienced position players with an influx of arms ready to take on expanded roles. Under head coach Matt Brooks, the Eagles are positioning themselves for growth this spring as they build depth across the roster and establish a new pitching hierarchy.

Offensively, Brentwood Academy leans on a trio of returning varsity contributors. Keaton Uggla (2026, Pellissippi CC) brings a versatile utility profile that allows him to impact the game in multiple phases, while also providing a steady presence in the lineup. Will Rooney (2026) anchors the middle infield, offering defensive reliability with developing offensive feel, and Jordan Humphreys (2026) adds athleticism to the outfield with the ability to apply pressure on the bases and provide length to the lineup.

On the mound, the Eagles feature a revamped staff headlined by Joey Ansell (2026, Kentucky) and Garrett Cyphers (2026, Southern Indiana), two arms expected to shoulder significant innings and set the tone at the front end of the rotation. Drew Atkins (2027) and Bek Ramer (2027) add depth and upside, giving Brentwood Academy multiple looks from the right side while continuing to develop consistency across longer outings.

Additional juniors Landon Cooper, Porter Keen (Maryville College), William Lee, and Brody Williams provide lineup depth and positional flexibility, while the 2027 class—including Landon McGill, Evan McManus, Owen Sherman, and Ramer—represents a growing core that could see increased responsibility as the season progresses.

The next wave is already making its presence felt, with underclassmen Jack Cartwright and Wyatt Smith pushing into the mix and adding youthful energy to the roster.

With returning position players, an emerging pitching staff, and a developing group of underclass contributors, Brentwood Academy heads into 2026 focused on establishing consistency and building momentum in Division II–AA play. If the Eagles can solidify roles on the mound and get steady production throughout the lineup, they have the pieces in place to take a step forward this spring.
