2026 OUTLOOK

+ West Carroll enters the 2026 season looking to turn the page after a challenging 6–25 campaign, returning a young, athletic core with multiple two-way pieces ready to take on expanded roles. Under head coach Quincy Thompson, the War Eagles bring back several versatile contributors and an emerging group of underclassmen, positioning the program for growth as it competes in District 13.

The offense is paced by Eli Bryant (2026), a true multi-positional piece who impacts the game behind the plate, on the infield corners, and on the mound. Bryant provides leadership in the middle of the order while also serving as one of the staff’s primary arms, giving West Carroll a reliable two-way presence. RQ Thompson (2027) adds speed and pressure at the top of the lineup, swiping 27 bags a year ago while contributing at first base and in the outfield. His athleticism and baserunning instincts allow the War Eagles to manufacture runs and create traffic on the bases.

Harlan Hames (2027) brings added versatility as an infielder with pitching value, projecting as another key piece on both sides of the ball. Caleb Vermillion (2028) strengthens the middle infield with a developing offensive profile, while Mason Taylor (2028) adds athleticism to the outfield and continues to gain varsity experience.

On the mound, West Carroll returns a broad group of arms led by Hames, Thompson, and Bryant, with JW Rushing and Sawyer Jackson also factoring into the rotation mix. This staff provides multiple looks and gives the War Eagles flexibility to spread innings as younger pitchers continue to develop and settle into defined roles.

The next wave of talent is already making its presence felt. Jason Roberts (2029) and Jeremiah Petty (2029) headline the incoming class, while Vermillion, Taylor, and Jackson represent underclass pieces who are already contributing at the varsity level and project to take on larger responsibilities as the season progresses.

With speed at the top, versatile two-way players throughout the roster, and a growing pitching staff, West Carroll enters 2026 focused on building momentum and establishing consistency. As the young core gains experience and the arms continue to mature, the War Eagles have a foundation in place to take steps forward within District 13.
