The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season, and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Florida.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the FHSAA state championships, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Florida. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and releasing our preseason top-25 rankings in the state.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state.

Each week, we will be releasing our Players of the Week, as well as updating our Power 25 overall rankings.

*Please note the information has been gathered from head coaches across the state, based on their replies to the questionnaire we distributed over this offseason.

“This season shapes up to be one of the more notable ones in Palmer Trinity baseball history. Since head coach Howard Cuervo took over in 2023, he and his staff have steadily rebuilt the program into one that has gained respect and consistency. Now entering his fourth season, Cuervo leads a roster with strong experience and depth, having had the opportunity to develop much of the team since their freshman year.

A key part of that outlook is a talented 2026 class led by twin brothers Michael and Nicholas Miraglia. Michael, the team’s shortstop, and Nicholas, the starting catcher, play central roles on both sides of the ball and provide stability up the middle. Their presence has helped establish a strong core as the team prepares for a demanding season.

On the mound, sophomore Pedro Castillo returns after a solid first varsity campaign, posting a 2.93 ERA with 44 strikeouts across 40⅔ innings. Palmer Trinity also adds transfer Alex Rizo from St. Brendan, an outfielder who is expected to be the first power arm out of the bullpen. The coaching staff is excited about what Rizo brings to the roster as the team prepares for a season with the potential for a deep run.” – Howard Cuervo, head coach
