2026 OUTLOOK

+ Providence Christian Academy enters the 2026 season looking to take a step forward after a 14–18 finish in Division II–1A play. Under head coach Brian Patterson, the Lions return a veteran core with college commitments, positional versatility, and multiple arms capable of handling innings, giving the program a strong foundation as it looks to climb the standings this spring.

The lineup is headlined by a pair of experienced outfielders in Sean Birkofer (2026) and Jackson Livesay (2026). Birkofer, a Walters State CC commit, provides a steady presence in the outfield and brings proven varsity production to the top half of the order. Livesay adds athleticism and versatility, impacting the game both offensively and defensively while also factoring into the pitching staff. His two-way ability gives Providence flexibility in how it constructs lineups and manages innings.

Josiah Allen (2026) is one of the Lions’ most valuable returners, offering power and physicality at first base while also serving as a frontline arm on the mound. A Maryville commit, Allen’s presence in the middle of the order and ability to take the ball in key moments makes him a focal point on both sides of the ball. Behind the plate, Jansen Patrick (2026) anchors the defense, providing stability at catcher and serving as an important piece in managing a deep pitching staff.

In the middle of the diamond, Matok Delk (2027) brings a true two-way profile. A shortstop with a strong right arm, Delk contributes defensively while also projecting as a significant innings piece on the mound. His continued development will be key to Providence’s success as the season progresses. Davis Warren (2027) adds depth and offensive value, providing another left-side option who can impact the lineup as a designated hitter or corner outfielder.

On the mound, the Lions return a solid group of arms led by Allen, Delk, Livesay, and Drew Patterson. That mix of experience and versatility allows Providence to cover innings throughout the week and gives the staff multiple looks against opposing lineups. How that group settles into defined roles will be a major storyline early in the season.

Additional depth comes from the 2027 class, with Jack Dame and Caleb Kaufman both pushing for expanded roles, while underclassmen Drew Patterson (2028) and Cole Capurso (2028) represent the next wave of talent ready to be integrated into varsity action.

With a lineup featuring college commits, multiple two-way contributors, and a pitching staff that brings both experience and flexibility, Providence Christian Academy enters 2026 with the pieces in place to make a jump in Division II–1A. If the Lions get consistent production from their core and continued growth from their younger players, they have the makeup of a team capable of turning experience into wins this spring.
