The 2026 Tennessee high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Tennessee.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Murfreesboro at the state tournament championships – but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Tennessee. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 25 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

2026 OUTLOOK

+ Bradford enters the 2026 season coming off a productive 24–18 campaign that culminated in a State Tournament appearance, looking to build on that postseason momentum in TSSAA Class 1A. Under head coach Phillip Tyler, the Red Devils return a battle-tested core with experience in big-game environments, along with a group of underclassmen ready to add depth and energy to the roster. With multiple two-way contributors back, Bradford profiles as a physical, competitive club capable of making another postseason push.

Offensively, the lineup is led by Brodie McDaniel (2026), a dynamic outfielder who impacts the game on both sides of the ball. McDaniel’s athleticism allows him to cover ground defensively while providing pop and run production in the lineup. Fellow two-way piece Jax Street (2026) adds another layer of versatility, offering value as an outfielder and on the mound while giving the Red Devils flexibility with matchups throughout the spring.

The middle of the order should be bolstered by Trevor Herrington (2027), a physical presence at first base who also figures prominently into the pitching staff. Herrington’s strength and power potential make him a key run producer, while his ability to handle innings gives Bradford a reliable arm in meaningful spots. Behind the plate, Alex Massey provides stability and leadership, working closely with the pitching staff while contributing offensively and managing the tempo of the game.

In the outfield, Gunner Skerret (2027) gives the Red Devils another athletic option with upside. Skerret’s defensive ability and developing bat add depth to the lineup and project well as he continues to mature at the varsity level.

On the mound, Bradford returns a strong group of arms headlined by Herrington, McDaniel, and Street. That trio gives the Red Devils multiple looks and the ability to manage innings effectively over the course of the season. Hayden White adds additional depth to the staff, providing another option capable of stepping into key roles as needed. With several pitchers who can also impact the game offensively, Bradford’s staff is built around versatility and competitive toughness.

The next wave of Red Devils talent is already pushing forward. Will Taylor, Braxton Lynch, Aaiden Gardner, and Eli Leyhue headline the incoming underclass group, bringing athleticism and long-term upside to the program. As they gain varsity experience, this group should strengthen Bradford’s depth and contribute in various roles throughout the season.

With postseason experience, a lineup built around proven two-way players, and a pitching staff that returns significant innings, Bradford enters 2026 with a strong foundation. If the Red Devils can continue to develop their younger pieces while maintaining consistency on the mound, they have the makeup to remain a factor in District 13 and make another run deep into the Class 1A postseason.
