TEAM OUTLOOK

Washington heads into 2026 coming off a solid 15–11 season and a CIF North Coast Section Division 3 Playoff appearance, returning with a group centered around pitching and defense. Head coach Michael Sewell brings back six starters and three pitchers, giving the Huskies a veteran core with experience at key positions up the middle and on the mound. With a defensive-minded roster and multiple two-way contributors, Washington profiles as a team that can win close games with clean play and steady arms.

The senior class will drive much of that identity. RHP/1B Hugo Marks (2026) and RHP/1B Ehkam Braich (2026) give the Huskies physical two-way options at first base and on the mound, while CF Joseph Guerra (2026) will anchor the outfield with, showcasing his athleticism and range. In the infield, 2B Tyler Stevens (2026) provides stability up the middle, and rising junior SS/RHP Noah Paek (2027) adds impact potential as a shortstop/right-hander with versatility. UTIL Peyton Romero (2027) rounds out the core as a valuable utility piece who can move around and contribute in multiple roles.

Looking forward, underclassmen C Santiago Carlos (2028) and SS Ian Bolden (2028) add depth and upside at premium defensive positions, with Carlos developing behind the plate and Bolden projecting as a middle-infield option. With a roster built on run prevention, reliable defense, and multiple two-way players, Washington has the pieces to take a step forward in 2026. If the Huskies can find consistent offensive production to complement their pitching staff, they should be well positioned to contend and improve on last year’s win total.

Quote from the Coach

“We’re feeling good about this upcoming season. We return six starters and have quality players to fill in as we progress.”
