2026 National Rankings Spotlight: Ben Kuglitsch

The Florida State commit, ranked No.2 in the state of Wisconsin and 124th nationally in the 2026 class, gave one of the best looks on both sides of the field this tournament. With the bat, the right-handed hitter showed why he has some of the biggest power tools in the state from the long-limed, 6-foot-2, 182-pound frame. Staying all over the barrel with strong, quick trigger hands able to drive the ball to all parts of the field with ease, showing it through an opposite field warning track shot and double. On the mound, Kuglitsch came out in relief, working with a two-pitch mix relying on his fastball sitting 89-91 mph, T92, flashing a breaking ball in the lower 80s. Complete command of the zone, attacking hitters early and staying ahead, striking out six over three and ⅔.

Started in center field and hit third across both games, defensively the athlete stands out in center with easy speed range to both gaps looking like an easy asset at the position moving forward. At the plate, the right-handed hitter has taken strides lifting the ball in the air more often this year. Twitchy right-handed swing with visible bat speed, showing feel to maintain connection and adjustability, rarely swinging and misses as a result. True two-way talent with a high ceiling on either side of the ball.

Got the ball to start the game, going four innings, allowing one unearned run on three hits and a walk while striking out five batters earning the win. The right-hander worked in the low-90s T93 mph throughout the outing with life out of the hand and a firm curveball at 76-80 mph to pair. One of the top athletes in the country with an easy and clean arm with easy feel to repeat on the mound. Also a capable bat with 6.47 speed that shows up in game while driving the ball on a line more consistently this spring.

The athletic and twitchy two-way Florida State commit started off his day by running an eye-popping 6.47 seconds 60-yard dash. On the mound, Kuglitch showed incredible arm speed through the baseball and touched 94 mph with the heater four times during his bullpen. He threw good strikes with a 78 mph slider and showcased feel for a 88 mph change up. Kuglitch seems as if he’s just scratching the surface with how good it could be on the mound. With the bat, the right-handed hitter has a short, controlled and balanced stroke and he was all over the barrel throughout his round. He was hitting effortless rockets up to 98 mph exit velocity through the big part of the field. Ben Kuglitch is a supremely talented two-way player who continues to take steps forward in front of our staff and is a name to know on the national stage.
