2026 OUTLOOK
+ Lebanon enters the 2026 season coming off a 20–15 campaign in Class AAAA, bringing back a competitive core that logged meaningful innings and at-bats a year ago. Under head coach Will Wakefield, the Blue Devils return a mix of proven varsity contributors and emerging underclass talent, giving the program a solid foundation as it looks to compete in District 7.
The lineup is led by Evyn Underwood (2026), a physical two-way presence and Walters State CC commit who impacts the game on both sides of the ball. Underwood provides power and versatility in the lineup, capable of contributing at first base or in the outfield, while also serving as a frontline arm on the mound. His experience and ability to handle high-leverage situations make him a focal point for Lebanon this spring.
Carter McPeak (2027) is another key returning piece after a productive sophomore season in which he hit .306 with nine doubles and a home run. His ability to barrel the baseball and provide extra-base impact adds depth to the middle of the order, while his defensive versatility in the outfield and at second base gives the Blue Devils flexibility with lineup construction. Scout Loftis (2027) adds athleticism to the outfield and continues to develop as a reliable offensive option, rounding out a group that should bring balance and speed to the lineup.
On the mound, Lebanon will lean heavily on Underwood to anchor the staff, with Noah Fox (2027) returning as another important arm capable of taking on increased responsibility. That duo gives the Blue Devils a solid foundation at the front of the rotation, with the potential for others to emerge as the season progresses.
Additional depth comes from catcher Will Wright (2026), who provides experience behind the plate and stability at a premium defensive position. The next wave of talent is already pushing forward, led by underclassmen Tyler Auth (2029), Juaquine Rangel (2029), and Kasyn Smith (2028). Each brings long-term upside, with Smith offering two-way potential that could factor into varsity roles sooner rather than later.
With a proven two-way leader, returning offensive production, and developing depth on the mound, Lebanon enters 2026 positioned to be competitive in Class AAAA. If the Blue Devils can continue to build pitching depth and get consistent contributions throughout the lineup, they have the makeup of a club capable of taking another step forward in District 7 play.
