Prep Baseball Louisiana: 2026 Super 60 Preview
January 30, 2026
The Super 60 Pro Showcase—widely regarded as the most heavily pro-scouted preseason event in the country—returns this Sunday, February 1st, at The MAX in McCook, IL. Each year, the Super 60 brings together a select group of the nation’s top draft-eligible high school prospects, giving professional scouts an early, up-close look before the spring season begins in earnest.
Designed specifically for professional evaluators, the event serves as a launching point for area scouts, crosscheckers, and scouting directors as they prepare for the upcoming MLB Draft cycle. Only draft-eligible players from the 2026 class are invited, making the Super 60 one of the most exclusive showcases on the amateur baseball calendar.
Louisiana made plenty of noise at last year’s event, as OF William Patrick (St. Frederick, 2025), SS Jack Ruckert (Catholic BR, 2025), and C Presley Courville (Barbe, 2025) all represented the Bayou State well. Patrick stole the show, setting a new all-time Super 60 record in the 60-yard dash with a blazing 6.29-second run that had scouts buzzing throughout the building.
Once again, Louisiana will be well represented in 2026, with two of the state’s premier prospects set to take the stage this Sunday.
LOUISIANA PROSPECTS SET TO ATTEND

Hayes Holton RHP / Loranger, LA / 2026The former Future Gamer and Texas recruit boasts some of the highest upside in the entire state. At 6-foot-3, 195 pounds, his athletic frame still has plenty of room to add strength, which only adds to the long-term ceiling. Holton is an athletic mover down the mound with a lightning-quick arm stroke and a fastball that has been up to 97–98 mph as of last spring. The heater plays even bigger thanks to late life and true riding action through the zone, backed by elite spin rates (2,421–2,652 rpm). He complements the fastball with a developing low-80s slider, and began incorporating a split-finger changeup over the summer, giving him a growing three-pitch mix. With the Super 60 stage in front of him on Sunday, Holton has a real opportunity to separate himself and solidify his status as the marquee arm to see in Louisiana heading into the spring.

Braylen Montgomery OF / Walker, LA / 2026The Super 60 Pro Showcase is built for players with loud, measurable tools—and Montgomery fits that mold perfectly. The first thing that jumps off the page is his 6-foot-4, 217-pound frame: long, lean, and highly athletic with plenty of present strength and projection remaining. The former Future Gamer and Oklahoma recruit checks just about every box evaluators are looking for in this setting. He’s expected to post a strong 60-yard dash, flash above-average arm strength from the outfield, and showcase the kind of bat speed and raw power that has already produced exit velocities up to 107.3 mph. Montgomery is firmly on the radar of MLB scouts heading into the spring, but a big showing on Sunday could push his profile to another level and cement his status as one of the more intriguing upside plays in the class.
