Overall Summary

The Spartans enter the 2026 season with high hopes, returning a large part of their core from a 5A state appearance last spring. Senior Andrew Street will be a dominant two-way force and lead the way. Street led the team in innings last season, tallying 63.1 with a 2.54 ERA, and also led all returners with a .391 batting average at the plate. The athletic 6'1 prospect has all-state potential. Junior Roy Bannister will be another important piece on both sides of the baseball. Bannister hit .356 last season with 11 XBH, in addition to throwing 42.1 innings with a 2.65 ERA on the mound. Both Bannister and Street look to fill the void of graduated player Axel Prechel, who hit an astonishing .469 last season and dominated on the mound as well. Other returners to the lineup include junior Ben Weiss, who should slot in near the top of the order once again, and senior Logan Lassiter, who could be in for a larger role this spring. Games against Crescent Valley and West Albany highlight the Spartan schedule that is still in the process of being unveiled. Look for Corvallis to surprise at the 5A level in 2026.
