Since being named the Head Coach of Wabash Valley in 2023, Coach Aaron Biddle has put together three strong seasons as head coach for the Warriors. Since taking over the reins, he has a 134-58 record over the course of the last three seasons, good enough for a .689 winning percentage in that span. The Warriors are coming off last season that saw them finish 35-23, and will look to build upon that as they enter the 2026 season.

Hitters

Wabash Valley will enter the 2026 season with seven players departing that registered over 110+ at-bats during the season. With plenty of opportunities to make an impact opening up at the plate, it will be interesting to see how 2026 shapes up for the Warriors.

With a large amount of departures from the last year's regular lineup, So. SS Enrico Veach will be looked upon to help lead the squad offensively throughout the season. The sophomore was a regular feature in the Warriors lineup, hitting .341 across in 167 at bats in 2025. Veach will also enter the season as the top base stealing threat for Wabash Valley, stealing 16 bases in 17 attempts last spring.

SO. IF Drake DeFreitas is another name to note that could make a strong impact in the lineup. DeFreitas took advantage of his freshman season opportunities, hitting .286 across 70 at-bats, collecting a pair of home runs and driving in 20 runs on the season.

Look for So. 1B Owen Cornett to provide some thump in the lineup from the left side of the plate, who comes in with the most home runs hit last season than any returning player. Cornett launched four home runs in his 75 at-bats to go with his .253 batting average. So. 1B/OF Argenis Lopez hit .278 last season with 2 home runs and 17 RBIs, another name that will likely be looked upon to build off of last season and bolster the lineup. So. OF Logan Marsell is another name to keep an eye on as he took advantage of his limited opportunities at the plate in 2025, hitting .286 in his 28 at-bats.

So. INF Hector Roca and So. INF Konner Brown are two other names that saw some action last year that will look to improve upon their 2025 season and make an impact at the plate for Wabash Valley. As for freshman, Fr. 1B/OF Brady Schallmoser is poised to make an impact right away for the Warriors as a freshman, as he’s shown strong ability to drive in runs when the bat is hot. Fr. OF Tyler Peller and Fr. OF Leandro Hernandez have a strong chance to make an impact early on for the Warriors, with incoming transfers C JT Stiner (North Carolina-Wilmington) and So. INF Brooks Barber (Seward) poised to make an impact as well.

Pitchers

Unlike the offense, the Warriors will head into the 2026 season with a fair amount of returning arms from the past spring.

So. RHP Bennett Holdener will enter the year as the arm with the most experience in the Wabash rotation, and as a result will likely be looked upon to help lead this rotation after finishing 5-3 in 2025. The sophomore started in 12 of his 16 appearances last season, logging a 4.50 ERA in 48 innings, while also posting a 1.31 WHIP.

 Bennett Holdener

So. RHP Trevor Fishman is a name to know within this pitching staff. Fishman appeared in 21 games last season, mostly out of the bullpen, posting a 3.43 ERA in 44.2 innings pitched with 51 strikeouts, the most of any returning arm. With plenty of opportunities opening up in the Wabash Valley rotation, do not be surprised if Fishman is looked upon to fill in that role.

So. LHP Hayden Alexander and So. LHP Dylan Thompson are a pair of southpaw arms that are poised to make an impact on the mound. Alexander transferred in from Three Rivers and is primed to be an impact arm for this Warriors pitching staff. Thompson made a strong first impression during his freshman season in 2025, appearing in 13 games and posting a 4.38 ERA in 24.2 innings.

 Hayden Alexander

Look for the aforementioned RHP Drake DeFreitas to make an impact on the mound as well as at the plate. DeFreitas put up strong numbers in his limited innings last season, striking out 16 in his 12.2 innings of work to go with a 3.55 ERA. With DeFreitas also likely to be a big part of the lineup, look for him to be a strong option out of the ‘pen. Murray State commit So. RHP Brendan Mullin saw limited action in 2025 but is set to help bolster the staff with an increased role this coming spring. Incoming freshman Fr. RHP Michael Furmanek could step in and make an impact right away for the Warriors, as well as RFR. RHP Matt Helms, an incoming transfer from Northern Kentucky.
